    Description: Nestled in a picturesque setting, this charming cabin offers a perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. The large flat yard, easy access, and ample parking make arriving a breeze, while the paved driveway ensures smooth navigation. Step onto the wrap-around deck and breathe in the fresh mountain air as you fire up the gas grill and listen to the soothing sounds of the nearby creek. Just a short walk away lies the scenic Watauga River, inviting you to explore its beauty.

    Inside, the cabin exudes warmth and comfort, accommodating up to 8 guests across 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Embrace the rustic charm with wood interior walls and ceilings, creating an inviting ambiance. The main floor boasts a sunroom flooded with natural light, serving as a versatile space for dining or as a home office, complete with a large table, flat-screen TV, desk, and cozy seating area.

    The spacious kitchen is fully equipped, making meal preparation a breeze. Gather in the living room for quality family time, where ample seating surrounds a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and a floor-to-ceiling rock gas log fireplace sets the perfect mood. The primary bedroom with a king-size bed and a guest bedroom with a queen bed are conveniently located on the main floor, with a washer tucked away in the guest bedroom for added convenience.

    Venture upstairs to the loft area, where two separate areas offer additional sleeping space and entertainment options. Relax in the main area with a queen bed, or retreat to the cozy nook featuring two twin beds, each with its own TV. A shared bathroom completes this inviting space. Escape to this tranquil retreat and create memories to last a lifetime.

    Location: Located within easy reach of the Watauga River (Fishing Permit Required), this cabin provides the perfect setting for relaxation and outdoor adventure. Explore nearby attractions such as the famous Mast General Store and Candy Barrel, as well as Valle Crucis Park, all less than a mile away.The convenient location makes it just minutes away from all the High Country’s most famous attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Appalachian State University.  If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Relax and enjoy the slow pace of the mountains and the fresh air or be adventurous and go hiking, fishing, biking, or sight-seeing. Some other things people enjoy are shopping, antiquing, skiing, golfing and miniature golfing, ziplining, go-karts, and gem mining.

Great little property walking distance to the River for trout fishing and only about 15 minutes from App State and downtown Boone. House was very clean and comfortable as advertised.

Location was great! Quiet and off the beaten path, but still close and convenient to everything we wanted to go out and do. Perfect layout for the grown ups to be able to hang out and come in and out without disturbing the kiddos and grandparents upstairs.

Great Getaway

We had a great family getaway. Very convenient to Boone and a short drive to the ski hills. Roads were well maintained during the snowy weather as well.

Family trout fishing

This is the third time we stayed in the place. It’s our annual trout fishing trip. Plenty of room. Close to the stream. We really enjoyed staying there.

Great Mountain House with everything you need.

This place was clean when we checked in. Everything was in working order. Between the hot tub, fire pit, and views, we found it more than adequate for our ski house.

Valle Crucis Escape

Great place and location. Very relaxing ambiance, well equipped, and cozy. One disappointing factor was the extreme amount of dust/pollen on entire deck and all deck furniture, housekeeping should have rinsed it down, would have only taken a couple minutes. Everything else was great.

Arrival: Bed sheets in Master contain stains and hair-housekeeping changed sheets, Day 1: Garbage disposal did not work and was repaired, leaked after repair, couldn't use kitchen sink at all, Day 2 garbage disposal was replaced. Generally: clump of hair on the floor, shower hose downstairs covered by mold, microwave light over the stove did not work, the house needs TLC. Otherwise, the area is great, Beautyful views of the mountains

Great Location and House

The location is near the center of Valle Cruses so convenient and quiet. It is in a neighborhood with neighbors adjoining in case you are looking for a secluded cabin. The house is very nice and the area is quiet. The hot tub worked fine and it has a propoane firepit in the fenced yard with a nice large wrap around porch. The one negative is that we did not realize we were not going to be dealing with the owner, as our other VRBO experiences. The house is rented through Foscoe Rentals which is a corporate rental business which has many, many houses hence the paperwork was six plus pages with many clauses that we do not have to deal with when renting from an individual owner. The texts and e-mails were not personal as we are accustomed to with VRBO. For a short term rental of only 2-3 days this is cumbersome. I wish this had been disclosed somehwere in the listing prior to getting into this cumbersome corporate rental paperwork for a short stay.

The place needs to be updated and cleaned better. Everything just felt a little grimy and worn. I would not choose to stay here again. We did get a service call put in and got a quick response because the shower wasn’t working in the main bathroom. The maintenance guy came out and showed us how to maneuver the shower faucet to get the water to come out but the pressure was very low and never got warm.

Great weekend getaway! Due to a pretty significant snow storm (at least to us) we didn’t even leave the cabin once we arrived! It was well stocked and we were able to just relax by the fire

Nice getaway!

We enjoyed the property very much. Hot tub was nice. Beds were comfortable. House was very clean. No real complaints. Just a couple of minor suggestions: Deck chairs were a bit dusty, Wi-Fi was spotty - maybe because of location in the mountains. But overall a very pleasant experience. And we would come again.

A lovely retreat

We had an amazing stay at the Red Roof Retreat. The cabin was absolutely lovely and in a fantastic location. It was very clean and was a perfect fit for our spring break trip with our children. They adored the beautiful backyard and porches for exploring. We were able to walk down to the river several times and enjoyed many of the local businesses. Thank you for opening up your beautiful property and we will be back!

Cool spot and Comfortable

Great place for two families. Cool location near a stream and quite peaceful. Hot tub was a plus but the chemicals were all off (we had a family that has their own and was very serious about ph, chlorine levels and more). We let company know and they immediately made them better. Great service. The only real challenge was some of the kitchen seems dated with older knives, pots and such.
