    Dreamaway Cottage is your paradise away from home! This 3 bedroom, 3 and a half bath home is nestled in Surfman's Walk, which is located in Cape Fear Station. We have completely remodeled our home and take lots of pride into making it your special vacation spot. Downstairs we have a kitchen, dining, living room (sleeper sofa) and half bath. Upstairs includes a master suite with a king bed and the guest bedroom suite has two queen beds. We also have an additional bedroom (crofter) above the 2 cart garage. There is a queen and twin bed as well as a full bath. The crofter is steps away from the house. We have two porches, which are both screened. We enjoy many mornings and nights watching the wildlife go by from our own back yard. As far as additional amenities we have a 4 and a 6 seater golf cart, 4 beach chairs, beach towels, Wifi and a heated outdoor shower. We also have access to both clubs and temporary membership passes may be purchased for your stay. We know you will enjoy our home as much as we do! We do have a verizon cell extender in the home for verizon wireless customers. This part of the island does not have as clear cell service as other areas. We do have spectrum WIFI high speed internet for your use to use facetime phone calls.

Our family celebrated Thanksgiving in this lovely home. The neighborhood is our favorite on the island and the design features of the home are fantastic. We would stay again and highly recommend!

Perfect Spot for Race Weekend

This is my second time staying at this house, and I absolutely love it. It's clean, comfortable, and has everything I need for a stress-free stay. The best part? It’s only a 5-minute walk to the Badwater Cape Fear race finish line, super convenient, especially after a long race. I plan to keep coming back every March. Highly recommended!runners or anyone visiting the area!

Dreamaway Stay

When we arrived the cleaning staff was still finishing their work. The place was cheerful and nice. The few things we had problems with were, the dryer didn’t work. A repair person came out but he said the control panel was shot. He told me I could have the staff at the island was and fry clothes for me. It was helpful but I waited for clothes and especially towels to get cleaned. The dishwasher broke while we were there and that was repaired, the shower in the crofter wasn’t working when we arrived. A plumber fixed it 2 days late, and not this was a huge deal but there was no ironing board. We did enjoy the place once some of the problems were fixed. The workers on the island were kind and did the best they could to make our stay as good as it could be.

Dreamaway cottage is super dreamy

Beds were 10+, very comfortable cottage, well stocked and lovely decor. Master is great size and storage. Crofter was very charming. Just a lovely place to stay

Back Again

We like this property and location enough to have come back for the second year in a row. One of the batteries is not charging the golf carts well so we informed the property manager. They have stated they will look into it tomorrow. When we had an issue last visit, they were out to resolve it within the hour.

Island Getaway

This property was perfect for 3 couples enjoying a weekend getaway. The house is beautifully furnished and stocked with everything we needed. Managing reservations and contact with property manager could not be easier. Would love to come back.

Wonderful stay

This is our 2nd time in this home. Location is perfect. Easy walk or cart to the beach and you can hear the surf from both porches. Comfortable living room and kitchen. Beds were excellent. Would stay here again for sure!

LOVE! Never wanted to leave!

We have stayed in perhaps half a dozen homes here & this is still my fave. It’s got some kind of feeling in it that says “home.” We felt very comfortable even from the first 5 minutes in the house. Very clean, comfortable beds, big kitchen/dining, kin a cute subivision. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful House

We (family of 5 with teens) really enjoyed the house and the extra room over the garage. It was perfectly located with golf cart access to all places. We also enjoyed using the provided bikes to spin around the roads throughout our area. BHI is a wonderful island and we will definitely return soon!!

Dreamaway Cottage really IS a DREAM!

The house is gorgeously decorated and well-stocked. There are two golf carts and bikes to use. We absolutely loved everything about our stay! This house is a total gem.

Great property

We have rented many properties at BHI and this property was one of our favorites. We loved the location to the Shoals Club and the beach. It was very suited for our family of four and the kitchen was stocked nicely. It was well furnished and finished well with decor. We enjoyed our stay!

Cozy cottage, great location!

This our second time staying at Dream Away Cottage. We appreciate the short distance to the beach and to the Shoals Club. We like the decor and we had everything we needed for cooking in a lot. The cottage was very clean except the second bathroom shower is showing some age ( mildew in several areas).
