Great family 5 bedroom Beach home

  • 5 bedrooms / 3.5 bath home. Home sleeps 10 - 12 comfortably. It is the perfect location for get togethers for family and friends. The upper level open kitchen, living, dining area is bright , warm and welcoming. An upper level deck stretches across full front of house and has several rocking chairs and dining area. The home is only a short walk to the beach. Features of home: upper level has master suite with king size bed, tv, en suite bath, large walk in closet, accessible deck entry; 3 additional bedrooms on this level: two with queen size beds and one with 2 twin beds. There is a full hall bath for these three bedrooms to share as well as a half bath. On the lower ground level floor there is a large open room with two sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4), couch, tv, and game table. There is a full bathroom on this lower level. The outdoor shower is also on this level. The house has hardwood floors throughout. Additional features: 3 TVs, internet, 3 four - passenger golf carts, 6 bikes plus youth bike, well equipped kitchen with new cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless farm sink, beach toys, kayaks ( 2 single and 1 double), bogie boards, poker table. Pet friendly. See house rules regarding pets and pet fee. Bald Head Island Club temporary membership available for additional fee.

    The home rents weekly, Sunday to Sunday, during the peak season. During the off season home is available for a minimum stay of three nights.
    CANCELLATION POLICY. If canceled at least 60 days before scheduled check-in, Tenant will receive a full refund. In the event of a cancellation within 60 days of check-in and if the Premises are re-rented on the terms set forth in contract, then the Tenant shall receive a refund of all payments.

Second time staying here, and it is still as advertised. Clean, comfortable and a great central location on the island. The three carts are a great bonus with multiple families.

We absolutely loved the hatchlings house! The house is beautifully decorated and has such a fun history as being one of the original houses on the island. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the property. Host was super communicative and house is very well stocked and organized.

Great Family Week

Our first time to BHI was incredible. We don’t want to vacation at any other beach now! We have a family of 4 younger kids and had two grandparents with us. The kids loved the adventure on the ferry and tram to get to our house. The Hatchling House is located across the main road from the south beach (the best beach). Sharon and Jim are kind and very easy to work with and reply very quickly to any email we sent. We took advantage of their BHI resort membership and got a 2-day guest pass to the pool and tennis/pickleball courts. Totally worth it. Only wish the resort had a hot tub. The house was very clean, well organized, well-stocked in the kitchen (I love cooking and they had everything I needed). We will absolutely be returning to the hatchling house in the near future.

Perfect for large family

Wonderful house with plenary of room for family with kids. Very clean and easy check in and check out. Great kitchen and open living room and bedrooms are tucked away and is quiet even when when people are in living room. Loved our stay!!

Perfect family getaway

We loved our family getaway at Hatchling House. Location was ideal as we were close to the beach, market and BHI club. House was bright and airy, and we loved the open family room/kitchen and large porch. Very comfortable and clean house with great communication from owners.

Delightful Stay in BHI

We just spent a week at the Hatchling House and my only regret is that we didn’t book another week. The home, one of the first built on the island, is perfect for families with kids and is a one minute cart ride to South Beach and very short trips to East Beach, the Marina, and the market. We hope to stay there again soon.

Beautifully decorated, Plenty of room for family and friends in this historic home

Baldhead Island is the best beach in North Carolina for nature lovers! We enjoyed the many bicycles for exploring the island. A very short Walk to the beach. The great room kitchen dining room combo is Perfect for cooking family meals, and hanging out with everyone.

Wonderful House

The house is very clean and well stocked. The decor was beautiful and the house had so much natural light. It was a perfect beach house feel. The property owners were easily accessible and very helpful. I would rent this house again and again.

Memorial Day Vacation

This is a great family beach home. The property owners are very easy to communicate with and responsive to our questions. The house is extraordinarily well equipped, and was spotless when we arrived. The home accommodates a large family with multiple bedroom and great gathering room and large kitchen.

Girlfriend get away

This house was everything we needed for a high school girlfriend getaway. The kitchen was fully stocked and the house is adorable inside. We loved all the beach decorations. We enjoyed exploring the island and having multiple golf carts. The fall weather was perfect for walks on the beach.

Beautiful Home!

We had the best week at the Hatchling house. It was well stocked with plenty of kitchen items, kids toys/equipment & beach supplies (chairs, bikes, sand toys, etc). It is very close to beach access & market/shops. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a great week!

Great week!

We had a wonderful time! Much appreciated were the ‘extras’ like games, puzzles, books, beach towels, bikes, and there were plenty of chairs. Comfy beds and pillows, exceptionally well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable couches and chairs. You can’t beat the location. We also enjoyed seeing a painting bunting in the tree every day 😊

Fall Break Trip

Despite some sketchy weather early on, we had a wonderful visit to BHI. The house was a perfect fit with plenty of room for our family and the Lightbourne's could not have been more accommodating to ensure a great experience. We will definitely be back!
