Welcome to Second Wind – your breezy, beautiful escape on Bald Head Island, where panoramic ocean views, privacy, and comfort come together for the perfect beach vacation. Just 650 feet from South Beach, this spacious, open floor plan, four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home is ideal for two families, couples, or anyone looking to relax and recharge by the sea.

Inside, you’ll find a bright and spacious reverse floor plan with the main living, oversized kitchen, and dining areas upstairs to maximize the ocean views. Large windows on three sides flood the space with natural light, while a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops offers everything you need to cook and gather. Whether you're enjoying cocktails at the bar, reading in the great room, or playing board games at the dining table, there's plenty of room to connect with your people.

The screened porch, with comfy, upholstered chairs, and adjoining sun deck offer the perfect places to sip morning coffee, listen to the surf, or watch ships glide by on the ocean and Cape Fear River. In the evening, the west-facing porch becomes your front-row seat to island sunsets—best enjoyed from a rocking chair with a cold drink in hand.

The home features two king-size master suites, each with a pillow-top bed, private bath, built-in closets, and smart TV. Both open out to a covered porch facing the ocean, ideal for reading, cards, or a quiet nap. Two additional bedrooms with twin beds share a full bath and are perfect for kids or teens. All together, the home offers about 2,800 square feet of living space, hardwood floors throughout, and nine-foot ceilings.

Our oversized estate lot provides privacy, lush greenery, and wildlife sightings—from deer to ospreys. Despite the peaceful setting, you're just a short block from the sand and a longer block from the Bald Head Island Club.

For easy island travel, we include two golf carts—one six-seater and one four-seater—plus a trailer for hauling beach gear. You'll also have access to at least two adult bicycles* (more available to rent on the island), eight beach chairs, umbrellas, and a stash of beach toys for kids. * Not guaranteed due to flat tires, etc,, that we may not be made aware of.

Other features include free Wi-Fi, central AC, a Bluetooth speaker system throughout the house and porches, a big screen TV, and a large library of beach reads, games, and puzzles. The dining room seats eight to ten comfortably, with additional bar seating for four and an outdoor table for four on the screened porch.

With ocean views throughout the upstairs and unobstructed ocean views looking down down the street from our porches, easy access to South Beach, and close proximity to dining, golf, tennis, and pools, Second Wind offers a truly unique spot on Bald Head Island. The quiet cul-de-sac location and mature landscaping create a secluded, serene setting—while still keeping everything you need within reach.

*The BHI and Shoals Clubs are both available for separate purchase (not included in the rates or fees listed on this website), subject to availability. You apply and pay for these memberships directly with the Club; rates are on the respective Club websites. The BHI Club caps temporary memberships every week.
