We did a mother-daughter 5-night get-away to this cottage and it was perfect. We had a combination of relaxing and being active. We hiked/walking local trails like Devil's Back, Giant's Stairs, Otter Brook Preserve, and Cliff Trail. We enjoyed Cedar Beach and although you can walk there (we did twice), if you're taking a lot of stuff with you you'll want to drive and parking is very limited. We did mostly take out for dinner because we just wanted to keep enjoying the deck! Had excellent food from all of these places: Sundrenched Cafe (lobster roll and lobster BLT), Bailey Island General Store (twice - lobster roll lunch and another day pizza for dinner), Cook's (twice - once for dinner and once for lunch after walking a loop from the house to Cedar Beach back around to Cook's then to the cottage). We did not have an opportunity to kayak as the day we planned for that was way too windy. We explored the back end stones and stone ledge, but I wouldn't recommend swimming off the property as it is very difficult to navigate and the seaweed is very thick - much easier to take a dip at Cedar Beach. The property was clean and the kitchen provided everything we needed for our stay. We left our cone coffee filters for the next visitor as neither of us has the need for that filter type at home. The TV has all the loaded apps you'd need if a day is dreary, and there are games as well. But if the weather is good and you don't feel like going anywhere, reading on the day, listening to the boats and the water lapping on the rocks, and smelling the salt air until the gorgeous sunset is a complete day!
