Founded in the 1950s as a seaweed settlement, more than 400 seaweed workers and their families lived at the Ranch. There was a church, a school, a police department and everything this small community needed. Staying here also means taking a journey to the past, to discover the amazing life of the pioneers in this truly remote place in Patagonia back then.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

* Check In: 03:00 pm. / Check Out: 10.00 am. If case of arriving earlier, guests may use the common areas.
* Electricity: Today the supply is 90% provided by solar panels and wind power, which automatically turn on at 10 am until 11 pm approximately. If the weather is very cloudy- which does not happen often, we turn it off at midday in order to turn it on at 7 pm again, until 11 pm. Cabins have an emergency light. We recommend to bring a flashlight.
* WI FI: Wi fi available most of the day (solar energy). It is not reliable and might be slow.
* Telephone: there is no mobile phone signal. WhatsApp works fine (calls or texts).
* Laundry Service: available with an extra cost.
* Pets: Small dogs are allowed in Steppe Cabins. Please inform our Reservations staff. Consider there are dogs and other animals which are not tied; Pets are responsibility of their owners.
* Respect the environment: Please do not pick up shells, fossils, etc. Remember this is a protected area. Bahia Bustamante is home to an incredible amount & diversity of wildlife, please respect their home, their behavior, their times. Mind the flora too.
