Escape to Bear Creek Cottage in Manchaca Texas! Our beautifully decorated vacation rental is perfect for families, friends or couples. Enjoy the spacious backyard shaded by oak trees, where you can relax on the covered porch and watch wildlife. Conveniently located just 12 miles south of Austin, you can explore the Hill Country and nearby restaurants in South Austin and Buda. Experience a joyful retreat that promises both relaxation and adventure.

Nearby to Austin festivals and F1 Circuit of the Americas track. Located between two wedding venues: The Wild Onion Ranch and Humming Bird House. Two miles from the Vineyard at Chappel Hill. Located 15 minutes from downtown Austin, and 45 minutes from San Antonio, this property makes it convenient to visit surrounding hill county towns such as Buda, Kyle, Wimberly, New Braunfels, Gruene, San Marcos, Dripping Springs and Driftwood.

Bear Creek Cottage is a property with all new appliances and large back porch for outdoor dining. Perfect location to maximize your experience by being near Austin's museums, restaurants, music venues and nightlife as well as spending time in the countryside tubing, swimming, kayaking, hiking, fishing, etc.

We live on this same 6 acre property but we are not visible to the cottage, just in case you need anything. We also have another rental property called Onion Creek Cottage which is with walking distance but also not visible to the cottage. There is parking for 3 cars only in front of the cottage. If you need more parking give us a call. We don't allow events of any kind but there is a covered back porch with a table for dining for 6-8.

The kitchen had everything we needed. Shopping was 10-15 minutes away. The host messaged us. It was all good.The driveway was somewhat close to the intersection so you had to be careful pulling out,of course. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. The extra treat is seeing 3 Texas Long Horns one morning while I was drinking coffee on thedeck in the back.

Bear Creek Cottage was just as quaint and comfortable as it looked in the pictures. The whole house was immaculate when we arrived. Sue and Terry are wonderful, responsive hosts. We will definitely stay at the cottage again next time we are in the area!

We needed a place to stay with my brother who flew in from Arizona for our father’s memorial service. The entire process was stress free! And, if I could, I’d pick this cottage up, put it on a large piece of property and live happily after! It was cute and comfortable. Like a home away from home! It was impeccably clean, well maintained, and stocked with the things we’d need for our stay. It was perfect for our needs!

Bear Creek Cottage was a perfect, cozy stay for my family! Owners Sue and Terry have wonderful taste, and the decor of the cottage was a perfect balance of modern and antique. Comfortable beds, soft towels, a nicely appointed kitchen, a great covered patio area, and easy access to the nifty shops/restaurants on Main St. in Buda makes Bear Creek Cottage the place to stay!

We had a great stay at the Bear Creek Cottage. The home was cozy and clean, and conveniently located near where our daughter and son in law live, as well as the Southwest church of Christ where we attended their annual spiritual growth workshop “Arise”.

Bear Creek Cottage is a gem

A Neat, clean, well equipped home for our 20 day stay. Very useable space inside, with a covered back porch which was used a great deal. Very gracious hosts that were attentive and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended. We look forward to another stay here.

Cozy and comfy!

We were in town for a wedding nearby and this cute little cottage was the perfect home base for the weekend. Close enough to I-35 that we didn’t feel disconnected from attractions downtown, but out of town enough that we could sit on the back porch at night and listen to crickets. (Really appreciate that the porch has an overhead fan— made it bearable to hang outdoors even in the warmer temps!) The bed was comfortable, everything was very clean, and they even had a couple waters in the fridge for us… which was fantastic because we arrived super late from the airport and hadn’t stopped for refreshments on the way. Would definitely stay here again!

Home away from home

We had arrangements to stay else where and they fell through. Terry and Sue went above and beyond to help us out in a very short amount of time. I’m a clean freak so I’m always nervous at what we will find. I have only stayed at 1 other VRBO. This place was perfect!!! Everything you could want or need. Very clean, very homey and so quaint! My husband was so pleased and he is the reason we never stay in any, he has changed his mind since we stayed there. It was so quiet, so clean and 4 min from my niece. The hosts were very quick to answer questions and check in was so easy….even for me. Thank you to Terry and Sue. We hope to come back and I would recommend this place to anyone, and I’m picky.

Fireflies were the icing on the cake!

Truly one of my favorite VRBO experiences. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this comfortable house located in a quiet neighborhood. Just a short drive from many restaurants. Convenient to drive to Circuit of the Americas and downtown Austin. The hosts were responsive and kind. The best part: we got to see fireflies in the backyard. I have always wanted to see them. Dream come true!

Cottage near Buda

This is a very cute cottage near Buda and not far from Austin. We needed a spot for a quick overnight stay, and this was perfect. Spotless, well-appointed, wonderful decor, beautiful and well-stocked kitchen and nice TV’s. A wonderful back porch and private setting with large backyard, and has a security system. Very nice and communicative owners!

A comfortable Home!

Went with my fiancé, future brother in law and his wife. We visited Austin for a festival and the home was perfect. Close enough to stores and not far at all from the festival. Home was very clean and spacious for its size. Kinda skeptical at first but it did not disappoint! Would totally book again! Sue and Terry responded with no hesitation. And we’re very kind answering my questions since it was our groups first time booking ourselves.
