The space
I am a 63-year old art curator who loves living by the beach and enjoying nature. My place is small, so would suit active guests who want to be in the outdoors, enjoying beach walks, cycling, kayaking and birdwatching as the area has plenty of opportunities to enjoy these past times. The guest suite is spotlessly clean with lots of character and is fully sustainable with solar panels, filtered rainwater and double-glazing as well as recycled furniture. Please note that the property is the one downstairs, and closest to the road which has two water tanks attached to it. It has a 10 metre flat driveway leading to the garage. If you go upstairs there is a shared deck area which is closed in by plastic roller blinds. You are welcome to use this area.

While there is a shop in Ōrere Point which sells necessities, if you are staying a couple of days, it is advisable to bring groceries with you as the area is isolated, and it is over an hour's drive to reach a supermarket. Takeaways (fish and chips in Kaiaua are excellent, and liquor is sold in the Ōrere shop) close around 6pm in Ōrere Point store and 7pm at Kawakawa Bay.

Guest access
On arrival, you can use the remote control and drive right in to the garage. Make yourself a cup of tea before you get ready for a swim, and walk through the laundry to the bedroom and en suite bathroom.
