Updated in 2022, this quaint, cozy cabin is just a one minute walk to Superior. Centrally located between Marquette & Munising (Pictured Rocks) on 2 lakes, you can easily enjoy beauty on site or with a short drive. From the property you can paddle in our free kayaks & canoes, rock hunt, watch eagles, Northern lights, meteor showers, & the sunrise and set over water. We also have a charter fishing service on site to catch lake trout. The nearest restaurant, the Brownstone, is just 5 min away!



You do not have a direct view of the lake from the cabin, but the property contains 300` of Lake Superior shoreline and you are a one minute walk from the lake.



Our resort amenities include a public pavilion, firepit, and shared deck overlooking the lake for Superior views.



I am located at the same property and am available anytime you need me. I like to allow guests to initiate how much interaction they would prefer with me as the host.



We have a 7 rental resort in a small bay of Lake Superior known as Shelter Bay. We also have a charter fishing service on site.

Super great stay

We were given accurate diections to the cabins. Sent us a catalog of places to visit snd eat. When we arrived,there was a cancelation so we were given the opportunity to move up to a larger cabin at no extra cost. Very hospitable hosts. We will definately return.

Nice place

We had a very nice stay. Cabin was very clean and as described. Rocky beach was fun for rock hunting and beautiful sandy beach right across the street. Would definitely stay again so much to do in the area.

Absolutely the best host ever

Sarah was so great to work with. Was very accommodating and made our stay awesome. The atmosphere at the resort was so chill and relaxing. Just what we needed. Setting lake side was great and having a place to do grilling and hang by a fire was perfect! Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the Ontario cabin (number 5). Very clean and well maintain. Would stay again and recommend to others! Nice Play superior views with an additional lake across the road.

Nice size, all of the amenities you need

Check in was smooth, Sarah is a sweetheart, the cabin was clean, it has a stove, microwave, toaster, full sized fridge, toaster, pots, pans, and dishes. We were able to cook pizza, eggs, chicken, mashed potatoes, toast. It got a little chilly at night at there was a heater provided. (In August!!!). We used the canoes and canoed to the local beach to swim and we were alone. Bring your own towels for the shower andyy swimming. Also your own toiletries. Short walk to the boats. Bring charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. Thank you for the experience!!

Location

The location of this property was perfect for us to stay for several days and enjoy the areas offerings. The location is very quiet, you don’t hear other guests. You will hear road noise is you open the windows, but it is something that drowns out. The beach at the resort you wouldn’t swim at due to the large rock structure, but you can walk/drive across the road from the resort to swim at a sandy shore lake (way warmer than Superior). The place was very clean. Mattresses were comfortable. Nice break from hotel stays on our trip.

Cool little place!

Great people! Great location! Cute cabin. There was a bit of a foul smell but we got used to it and I’m sure it’s normal for a place that isn’t lived in all year! We were hoping to be closer to the lake and thought we would be according to the description but it was all good! We made the best of it! Overall it was still a nice place and we’d definitely go back!

Not What We Expected

Let me start by saying that yes, there was a partial view of Lake Superior from the cabin. Surfaces in the cabin were relatively clean. However, "down to earth" isn't how I would describe the experience. The first thing we noticed when opening the door to the Ontario cabin was an overpowering smell. It made trying to relax in the living area very uncomfortable, and I was forced to sleep in the back bedroom because my eyes and throat were burning from the odor. The next day we located a plug-in air freshener with an overpowering smell in the living area, and unplugged it. When we came back that evening, the air freshener scent had died down, but then it smelled more like rodents. There were rodent repellent plug-ins in the bedroom, and traps in the kitchen. We walked down to the shore in the evening hoping to find some lake agates. Unfortunately there were large rocks dividing the shoreline from the property, and it would have been treacherous trying to navigate them to get to the smaller rocks. There was also a lot of what looked like construction clutter lying around - power cords, ladders, etc. If you're going on a fishing charter, this place might be okay, but for a nice vacation stop it was overpriced and uncomfortable.

Great get away, pictures are exactly what you get!!

The property details are very accurate. When I found this cabin I read the reviews and looked at the pictures a 100x before I actually booked. It was for my birthday weekend, I was excited. Sarah was so easy to deal with especially when I asked if I could add on a night prior to my check in date, it was available, yay!! It's definitely a cabin! It was dated, I could have been cleaned better, the bed was harder the a rock and the bathroom floor was questionable. Overall I was happy with my stay we were not bothered by staff or guests, but if your looking for something ALONE, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!! Conveniently located and easy to find but it was what I wanted, thank you Sarah and staff for a wonderful weekend and you have a beautiful property. Thank you.

This cute cabin worked out perfectly. It was clean and the host was friendly. It had a coffee pot, clean beds and right off the main road. The shower had nice water pressure. It was very safe, we even left the door unlocked. The sunrise over the water was lovely. I would stay here again.

Great location, clean property, friendly and helpful host.

Sarah was a fantastic host, and the property is located between Deer Lake and Lake Superior for all UP wants and needs.. Both of these bodies of water are beautiful. Sarah was very helpful with suggestions and a binder in the property with all of the area goings on. The check in and check out were super simple and efficient. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Amazing lake side resort with a great host!

We had an amazing time at Kimar’s Resort! The cabins were clean and well kept and the lake side area was gorgeous. We really enjoyed using their canoe and the view from the porch! Sarah was very helpful and a wonderful host!! We had no issues and she helped make our trip even better! We will definitely be back!

Great Getaway

This was a wonderful stay for my girlfriend and I. Perfect location between all of the activities we had planned. Beautiful community on the water . Amazing property managers with a great charter fishing service right there. Will definitely recommend.
