Stone Cottage is located in a beautiful mountain gorge

Stone Cottage is a peaceful retreat with mountains and woods just out the front door. Wildlife abounds. Deer and turkey frequently venture into the yard. Yes, a black bear can occasionally be spotted ambling along the property boundaries. No Gerton residents have ever been eaten. Family friendly. Smoke free. Sorry, no pets. Free Internet/Wi-Fi.

Stone Cottage has 1400 square feet of living space. The master bedroom features a queen-size bed. Other bedroom features twin beds. Cottage has two full baths. Master bath has shower and additional bath has tub with shower. Kitchen has washer and dryer, dishwasher, gas range/oven, with dining for four. Living room has a large-screen TV, Direct TV provided, and fireplace with gas logs. Sunroom has additional dining table that seats six. New central heat and air. Perfect for family of four, or two couples. I know, twin beds in one room, but a twin bed is very cozy with two.

Three vehicle parking space at cottage. Additional parking available, very short walk, in lot below cottage. Outdoor seating available to sit and enjoy the mountain views. Kitchen equipped to meet your dining and cooking needs. Carport available for one vehicle.

What s near? Eighteen miles from Asheville, North Carolina. Eight miles from Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure. Twelve miles from the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Minutes away from the Florence Preserve. 600 acres of hiking trails, waterfalls, and beautiful views ( Minutes away from Hickory Nut Gap Farm. Source for organic fruits, vegetables, and pasture raised beef, pork and chicken( These are just to name a few of the local attractions and activities available in the local area.

Owner/operator lives nearby - other side of the horse pasture. Available to address concerns on short notice that could arise to ensure that your time in Stone Cottage is enjoyable. I want guests that appreciate the geographical beauty and seek to explore the scenic byways and enjoy the outdoor activities that abound in the area. Stone Cottage is not a frat house. Free Internet/WIFI. MINIMUM STAY 2 NIGHTS. MAXIMUM STAY 7 NIGHTS.

Great mountain getaway

We stayed at the old Stone Cottage for 4 nights to spend time together as a family. 2 adults and 2 college-age children. The house had everything you could need to get some down time in the mountains. Warm fireplace. Coffee and tea ready to be made. One trailhead is less than a mile away. 30 minutes into Asheville. Great communication.

Great getaway

Host was very nice. House was very inviting, organized, and cozy. Lots of information about the area and sites to visit. Loved that things were labeled and didn't have to hunt for them. Location was privet but very easy to get to things.

Second stay as charming as fitst

I love this little cottage! Great place to meet family. Kitchen is so well equipped we ate in for almost every meal! The games available were prefect. Beds are comfortable. Just a great trip and comfortable stay!

This was our 3rd stay at Stone Cottage, and it never disappoints. The owner is so wonderful and friendly; we enjoy chatting & catching up with him each visit. The house, as always, was clean, cozy, and full of thoughtful amenities . We will be back!!

Just like home

This was the most thoughtfully, generously well-stocked place we've ever stayed! They seemed to have thought of everything a guest might need, plus so many charming, homey touches. It was a gorgeous drive to Chimney Rock State Park and Lure Lake, which were the highlights of our trip.

Great Spot

My wife and I are happy to recommend Jame's place to anyone. Clean, organized, quiet, landscaped beautifully on a long and winding road which is but a hope skip and a jump to Asheville. There's an Ingles for groceries nearby, if you need one, restaurants, gas, there's even a quiet little tavern up the road a bit if that's your thing. Friendly people there. Lastly, we had the place all to ourselves, felt like we owned the place. For me personally, that's a nice bit of freedom. Trust is well-placed here. Best, John.

Wonderful stay. Great communication. Lacks nothing.

James and Sylvia did a great job making us feel welcomed and comfortable. Super communicators. So many special touches with a bottle of wine, basket of snacks, plenty of coffee and tea. Every room is like a step back in time. So much to see it's like a mini museum. The bathrooms are adorable. Beds were comfortable. Everything work perfect. Super clean. Our group was 4 retired friends. The location really was perfect for us. Quiet and close to fun hikes. Chimney Rock and Hickory Gap Nut Falls are a must. Bearwallow hike was fantastic too with the cows roaming at the top. Lake Lure Flowering Bridge was a nice place to walk. Folk Art Museum on the Blue Ridge Pkwy very cool. The cute town of Black Mountain was a neat little town to stroll around in. Beautiful place. Great stay and trip.

We stayed at Stone Cottage for our daughters wedding and it proved beyond our expectations. We did not expect to have access to so many amenities and greatly appreciated the thorough notes/explanations on how to operate the appliances etc. The cottage was so warm and comfortable, we would definitely recommend a stay there!

Wonderful Cozy Cottage

We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage is lovely and feels like home. The hosts thought of everything and even more to make our stay enjoyable, like extra blankets and even a picnic basket! Super clean. Complimentary wine, snacks, coffee, tea, water bottles. Full kitchen with extras like condiments, spices, etc. grill for outdoor cooking. Plenty of games, puzzles, books and wifi with smart tv. Beautiful views. I highly recommend.

Absolutely perfect

I appreciate you all so very much. We rent a lot of places and this experience was top 5 ever, easily. Other than a trip to the grocery store, we wanted for absolutely NOTHING and it's rare to find a rental that is top-notch stocked and prepared to pamper a guest. The property is great and even though there's a couple more houses around, it's private and quiet. The rock house itself is so very cool and homely and the amenities are plentiful! It's perfect because it's very close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Asheville and Hendersonville--LOTS to do and see. Thanks again--I'm bookmarking this place for future adventures.

Cozy cottage

Warm, inviting sweet little cottage with everything you need for your stay. The hosts were amazingly helpful and supplied so many treats, snacks, water, wine. You relax the moment you walk into the space. Everything was so clean and fun to explore. A great place for children too! Games, puzzles, books, movies.

Mom's Birthday

We loved staying in this little cottage. We had the fireplace on each evening, and snuggled in the warm, cozy living room reading, and spending time talking. We went down into town to see the Biltmore, and have dinner at an Italian restaurant, but really just enjoyed being together in the cottage. It's quirky, and sweet.
