About this space
This Sierra Nevada chalet provides a multitude of adventures for families and mountaineers. Placed perfectly in the middle of the Alpine Forrest, across the street from Bear Lake in the Bear Valley Village with scenic surroundings. Many of the activities available include hiking, skiing, fishing, snow play, bicycling, and so many more! Whenever you need a quiet, relaxing getaway by the fire or a thrill seeking outdoor adventure our home provides it all!

The space
This newly refinished cedar home was hand built by our family friends decades ago. Now with its new look it will be used by you and our family for decades more! Our house features 3 full bedrooms plus a loft overlooking the living room downstairs with two full baths and can sleep up to 12 people. Anytime of year winter, spring, summer or fall this area has something unique to offer everyone!



***** IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ******

During the winter months our house and the entire Bear Valley Village becomes bound by snow. This means the roads become inaccessible to cars due to snow. You can Snowmobile, Ski, Snowboard, Snowshoe, or walk. Luckily this creates an abundance of experiences and snow play at your finger tips. There are several ways to arrive at your stay: more information provided in Getting Around.

Also, included in your cleaning/service fee is a one hour, one way transportation service for your checkin and checkout dates via snowmobile! This will include your guests and your belongings.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire chalet! Downstairs includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, full bathroom and two king bedrooms.
Upstairs has a living area, two king beds and a full bathroom in one half and three single beds out on the loft overlooking downstairs.

*BearValley General Store does have limited grocery items available. Please plan to bring all you food and beverage supplies with you for your enjoyment.

Excellent Vacation In Bear Valley! Amazing Alpine Cabin.

We were very lucky to find this amazing Alpine Cabin for our family snow vacation in February. Thank you to Jess and Family for such an amazing opportunity. We really enjoyed the design of the Cabin with amazing A-frame, gas fireplace and plenty of room for all. It was very well appointed, supplied and super clean. I must add that the communication was excellent and the check-in process was superb as we were met in person by the owner and shuttled in the winter to the Cabin with their snowmobile and given a tour of the cabin. The in person check-in process was really top-notch and greatly appreciated. Likewise the departure process was super smooth as well. We hope we’re lucky enough to visit again soon! Looking forward to a visit in the summer too.

Family Weekend Fun

The 5 kids had a great time in the snow. So many sledding areas on and near the property. The open living space accommodated our 11 family members comfortably. And the cabin was will supplied. Great family weekend.The unavailability to the cabin by 4 wheel vehicles should be at the top of the site since Bear Valley Village is the only snowbound community in California. A flat griddle would have been nice for pancakes.

Beautiful winter adventure!

We stayed at this Alpine Family home with friends (8 total) and it was as described & more. The home was even more beautiful, and thoughtfully prepared than the photos! Jess was an excellent host, who provided us with a fun snowmobile ride with our things & made the experience wonderful for our families-4 adults, 2teens & 2 ten year olds & dog the location was perfect! We are grateful & looking forward to planning the next visit!

Family time in Bear Valley

What a great cabin for our family and another. Nine people stayed and there was always enough space for us. Cabin had all that we needed. Jess was very responsive and answered any questions we had. Great time had by all!

Fabulous vacation rental by the lake

We loved everything about this cabin. It was well appointed with everything we needed, and the location was perfect, directly across from the lake. The host was so friendly and helpful by email. I highly recommend this vacation rental.
