Artistic Bungalow with Amazing Lake Arenal Views

The exterior of our home inclues a 600 sq. foot covered wraparound porch where we gather, read and paint--even on rainy days (a real plus as we do get warm rain). The interior is all custom made by one of the local artisan contractors, including slotted bamboo kitchen cupboards and custom carved doors and accent pieces. We are also continously adding to our art collection which currently includes several colorful paintings. This truly feels like an inviting home base, from which you can explore the beauty and wonder of Costa Rica.
Sitting on our deck looking over the lake is like being on tropical safari. The area is a serene, magical place to rendezvous with nature. We are 40 minutes from La Fortuna (much closer than many lake homes) and even closer to zip lining, kayaking, horseback riding and gorgeous Volcano Arenal. The house has a spacious, open floor plan and wrap around deck with spectacular views. We enjoy the breeze off the lake, which provides comfort year round. We hope you come enjoy our slice of heaven!

Beautiful lake view property

The grounds and wrap around deck were wonderful. We spent most of the time on the deck. Steve was most helpful with his suggestions and knowledge of the area. The carved wood in the house was exceptional. The nights were a bit warm for us and the hill to get to the property was doable but difficult with a car. Location was great and all the restaurants were fabulous.

I highly recommend this property. The large covered tile patio overlooks gorgeous landscaping. The well-appointed main room has a very comfortable, double reclining, leather sofa. The kitchen was clean and well-equipped. The host, Steve, was very pleasant and helpful.

Good location

We stayed 4 nights here. Nice layout. Two bedrooms, bathroom, open kitchen/living/dining area. TV and Wi-Fi. Hot water all throughout. Stacked washer/dryer in unit. Private. Convenient. Stayed nice and cool. Full kitchen except dishwasher which was fine with us and as expected. Could have benefited from some additional kitchen items but we did fine. Like most of the houses we’ve stayed in on many island vacations, this house was in need of some basic repairs. The only one that was much concern to us was the door latches on the sliding glass doors from the master bedroom to the patio did not latch. We didn’t have any issues with theft but working latches would have added a little peace of mind. A nice addition would be a safe if some sort for valuables. In a country where everyone tells you not to leave any valuables in your car, it’s not terribly realistic to also tell folks to not leave any valuables on the house. Especially on an adventure vacation where water and rain are so ever present and computers, tablets, and smartphones are a way of life for so many.

Spectacular Yard & View

I loved everything about this stay. The caretaker met us at 8:00 at night to take us up to the house. The house was clean and well stocked. The temperature was perfect. The rain was soothing in the evening. The yard was clean and full of fruits. The property was beautiful. The porch creating a wonderful opportunity to view the lake & relax. The house was great! I recommend this property!!

Very comfortable home and fantastic views

The vistas are fantastic and there's a nice big porch to enjoy them from. The home is well maintained and stocked with all necessities. The neighbors were friendly (and so were their dogs, which we loved!) Really good restaurants in the area. A lovely place to relax and enjoy the views and relative quiet, and explore the area. The only two issues we had were 1. They are building a new house right next door so noisy during the day. Nothing anyone can do about that. 2. We had problems with the water. Shower was either boiling hot or cold; no warm/in between. We also did not have hot water for one day. That said, the property manager, Steve, was super responsive and very helpful. He did everything he could to get it corrected. We would stay here again.

Christmas 2019

We enjoyed our three night stay at Casa Artistica while visiting Nuevo Arenal and La Fortuna. The house is situated on a lovely piece of land that overlooks Lake Arenal. We especially enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at Gingerbread and our full day tour that included hanging bridges, waterfalls, the Arenal volcano, sloth sightings, and hot springs.

Lovely stay in Nuevo Arenal

Beautiful two-bedroom, one bathroom home on a gorgeous property overlooking Lake Arenal. The house has a great wrap-around porch with garden, lake, and mountain views - perfect for watching the sun set and for peaceful reflection. The kitchen is well-stocked and and living area is large and comfortable for a group of 5 - 6. The host gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat in Nuevo Arenal. Las Delicias was a family favorite. We enjoyed our stay in the area. The property is located 45 - 60 minutes away from La Fortuna so plan accordingly for excursions.

Beautiful home and views

We stayed at casa artistica 5 nights while visiting the Arenal and Lafortuna area. The house is beautiful and has all the amenities one needs for a restful stay. We were traveling with 2 teenagers, who spent much of their time enjoying the wild life while at the house, which was great to see. The house is perfectly located to visit the area, a short drive to Nuevo Arenal where you find all amenities and restaurants and under an hour to Lafortuna where we had adventure tours scheduled. The manager Steve was readily available and very helpful. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Really enjoyed our stay!

Superbly equipped cottage in a splendid location.

Cottage is around 7km from Nuevo arenal heading towards la fortuna. The access road to the cottage is steep and somewhat rough a 4x4 is recommended although a car with high clearance will make it. The house has everything you could possibly need and extra. Steve the property manager was very welcoming and advised us on some local knowledge. For example where to swim in the lake. Although you can't see volcan arenal from the house the view across the lake is stunning. In summary, a lovely house in an excellent location definitely recommended. Some nice artwork from the owners also on the walls. Thanks.
