We did love this hotel, it has a charm and is an amazing location, a mile long drive into the estate, magical. The castle it's self is a bit like a worn walking boot, scuffed, not new or smart, but very comfortable. Our room had a four poster bed so high I had to help my wife onto it, quite funny. Food was very good, dinner delicious and a good choice at breakfast. It does need up dating, and sprucing up, but stepping out and looking up at the hills surrounding you makes you think you are somewhere special.
