Away from it all! A hidden paradise in Southern Crete

"Villa Aeriko" is a modern and spacious accommodation of 78 m2 on two levels (ground floor and 1st floor) with large terraces and gardens of endemic plants, with unobstructed mountain and sea views and at a distance of 2 minutes on foot from the central beach is the perfect place for people who want to explore the south of the island.

The house is equipped with air conditioning (on both floors), TV (with Netflix), washing machine, board games, books, wi-fi.

The ground floor consists of an open kitchen with all amenities: oven, refrigerator, table and all the appliances you may need for breakfast, lunch, dinner (coffee maker, mixer, kettle, toaster, etc.). On the same floor there is one of the three bedrooms with a comfortable bunk bed and wardrobe, one of the two toilets with hot water 24 hours a day and a spacious living room, two sofas that can also be used as a single beds, as well as a fireplace for the cold winter nights.
The upper floor concists of two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a bunk bed and wardrobe, as well as the 2nd wc of the house.

The large terrace is covered with a wood and tile pergola, with a comfortable sitting area and unlimited mountain and sea views.

The Villa is suitable for 6 people (in beds), but we can accommodate two more people on the sofas in the living room.

The beautiful 500m2 exterior area of ​​stone and wood offers a large terrace with unobstructed view, various plants and trees, wood oven, barbecue, outside shower, basketball area, private parking and is the ideal place for you to unwind and enjoy a glass of wind at the end of the day

Useful information

During the summer there is a mini market and small cafes next to the beach with fresh seafood and traditional mezedes.


The nearby villages Harakas and Pyrgos have a supermarket that operates throughout the year.

If you are in the area, it is worth visiting the village of Paramympi, about 800 meters, the impressive waterfall of Abbas, which gives to the landscape a wild and impressive look. When it rains its waters fall from a height of 160 m forming wet smoke.

Atemberaubender Rückzugsort

Die Gastgeber Adamis und Ekaterina sind überaus sympathisch, hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar, ihre Unterkunft hält, was sie verspricht. Achtung für Reisende aus der Schweiz: die Fe-Wo-App kann in der Schweiz nicht heruntergeladen und genutzt werden, deshalb ist die Kommunikation erschwert. Die Anfahrt über das Astouria-Gebirge ist schlichtweg spektakulär und atemberaubend - die Passstrasse ist in tadellosem Zustand (Achtung Steinschlag) und lädt immer wieder ein zum Fotostop. Der Ort besticht durch seine schlichte Echtheit und die schöne Einsamkeit der Strände, auch wenn die ersten drei Tage im Mai bei schönstem Wetter der Sturmwind tobte.

Erg naar de zin gehad! Prachtige plek, maarde weg ernaar toe is wel een zaak om rekening mee te houden. Zeker als je uitstapjes wil maken Huis is basic maar schitterend gelegen heerlijk rustig!

Aussergewöhnlich toller Platz

Ich war zu Saisonbeginn Anfang April dort, wo der Ort noch im Winterschlaf war, und habe die Ruhe sehr genossen. Das Haus hat eine aussergewöhnlich schöne Lage, ist bestens ausgestattet und wird von einem wunderbaren kretischen Ehepaar vermietet. Ich wurde mit frischem Obst, Raki und Olivenöl aus deren eigenen Olivenhain empfangen und bei Fragen sofort bestens beraten. Ich war alleine dort, aber es hätten auch sechs Leute locker Platz gehabt. Die Anreise mit dem PKW ist ein bisschen Aufwand, aber das ist eben auch der Grund dafür, dass es noch ein echtes Stück wilder Süden geblieben ist. Ein schöner sauberer Strand und nette Wanderwege an der Küste entlang bieten gute Abwechslung. Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswert für Leute, die KEINEN Massentourismus suchen, sondern ein Stück "echtes Kreta" erleben oder die - ausserhalb der Hochsaison - einfach ihre Ruhe haben wollen.

Alles ok, ausser: nur 1 Ehebettt (andere = Kajutenbetten), meistens sehr windig und ca 4x laengerer Stromausfall (Licht, Kochen, Internetanschluss,...), beides nicht beeinflussbar...

la Crête authentique

Un îlot de tranquillité dans un cadre époustouflant, plages désertes et petit village avec tavernes et commerce, loin des sentiers battus et de la cohue que l'on peut trouver dans le nord de l'île. Propriétaires et habitants du village très sympathiques et accueillants. Marc et Sophie
