Downtown Arcata Sinatra Suite

Cute, centrally located downtown cottage with private outdoor patio and fire pit. This is the perfect getaway for those looking for a 2-3 minute walk to the Plaza to enjoy explicit dining, boutiques, bars, coffee, Saturday farmers markets and much more.

Parking and cottage entrance will be in the alleyway between K & J streets and between 11th & 12th streets. There will be a lock box on the outside of the door (on the side of the house). The host will send you the lock box key as your stay gets closer.

Convenient, budget friendly. It had everything necessary. Bed was comfortable, futon ok. We could have used more hand towels (we had 1 for 3 days, used towel in place) very poor water temperature regulation in shower ( suddenly got cold then slow to warm), bathroom fan spontaneously came on and off all day and night.

Pretty much as described on VRBO, however, we didn't realize that this is a converted detached garage with a pretty dodgy entry off the alleyway. Minimum amenities described in listing per listing, bed comfortable, unit was clean. Convenient to downtown, so location was great. Patio area not accessible from inside unit, and really was just a fenced in square, so not really appealing area to hang out.

1st Anniversary in Arcata

Upon arrival I was so upset that the patio was in the condition it was in. It was overgrown and had moss and mold all over. I reached out to the owner they had their partner come to the rental and clean up the patio while we were out.Please know; Both the windows in the back of the rental open up right to the patios of the 2 other rentals that have been created out of this property. They were immaculate patios, but very close to private areas of the rental. No one was using the other patios when we stayed.There was cobwebs collecting dust all over the ceilings, light fixtures and walls inside the rental. There was dead bugs in nearly all the corners. The bathroom was mostly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was great! We could walk everywhere in town. This rental is a garage in an alley that has been converted into a rental. It would have been a decent place to stay if it had been CLEAN. Especially at nearly 200 a night.

Poorly Cleaned

Upon arrival for our first ever stay at an Air BB my husband and I were shocked at how poorly the home was cared for. There were dead bugs in multiple places. We never used the oven due to how filthy it was. Dishes were not cleaned well. Coffee maker was splattered with coffee spots. Can opener didn't work. Stains on the blanket on the bed and on the top sheet. All mini blinds had at least on blind broken. There wasn't a broom or dust pan to sweep the floors. The lights in the livingroom and bedroom run on the same switch and are either both on or off. We didn't use the fire pit due to the moldy rug under the fire pit. The soap in the bathroom was expired. The water pipes make a very loud noise while using the hot water in the kitchen and bathroom. The house plants hadn't been watered in a long time and had some dry dead leaves. The owner originally sent us the wrong code to unlock the door and instructed to park in the wrong location. The pictures shown online of the place are old and should be updated. The bed was comfortable and it was a quiet neigbor hood.

It was a very comfortable place to stay and was pet friendly. Hiking trails were close and many places were within walking distance, including a Finnish sauna.

Perfectly appointed accommodations in a quiet but well-located neighborhood. We walked to the Redwoods Park, to the “green trail,” and to Arcata Square. The unit was clean, comfortable and well-designed.

Clean and small. Off alley entrance but seemed safe.

Nothing fancy,but worked. Couch in living space very hard so has to go buy blow up mattress to make it usable. Left notes for host with a few small additions like black out curtains could have been great. No outdoor space for dogs. I probably would rent again. No big issues.

Peaceful Getaway

We loved staying in this cute I bedroom retreat. Location was great, close walking to town Plaza, shops & restaurants. Not far from 101 by far enough not to hear the traffic noise. Beautiful wide open sky view for star gazing at night. Very cozy by the firepit nestled in the sweet patio space. Friendly hosts, very clean, plenty of amenities, but uncluttered so you can bring your own favorite supplies & snacks. We will definatly be back.

I came to Arcata with my two dogs to visit my college freshman. Mona’s house was perfect for us. What I really noticed was how clean everything was. The location was a couple blocks from the town square with lots of food options.
