Beautiful Stone Family Villa with fantastic Sea Views and Private Pool

Villa Boreas is a private gated traditional Cretan villa with stone walls and exposed wooden beams, and with the conveniences you expect from a luxurious property. Lying just outside the village of Kefalas with it's Tavernas and convenience stores (13mins walk) , villa Boreas is set amidst hillside grazing and olive trees and offers a peaceful, rural family holiday location. Built into the hillside Villa Boreas has magnificent views of the sea to the front, and headlands to both sides. Designed and furnished to high standards the main living areas are on the top floor to maximise the views. From the lounge and kitchen areas there is access to an extensive covered balcony terrace for al-fresco dining. The balcony terrace leads to the main garden area, with flowers beds and a further large outdoor dining area for those family bbqs. A further short flight of steps down is the private pool with outside shower area. Complete with four comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms plus separate wc villa Boreas is ideal for relaxing family holidays

Fabulous space from which to enjoy the wonders of crete

Perfect holiday villa in a great location- sea views, gorgeous local village of Kefalas with super friendly locals. Despite going In august, the thick stone of the villa and the fact it’s on a hill meant we stayed cool and didn’t need the air on. Would be even better with a few more items to enjoy such as snorkeling kit etc. And better lighting in the kitchen area. Otherwise simply perfect. We loved it

Jolie villa avec une belle vue sur la mer mais manque de matériel en cuisine

Villa tranquille avec une belle vue sur la mer que l'on apprécie à chaque repas. La piscine est entretenue deux fois par semaine et la femme de ménage passe en milieu de séjour de deux semaines. Il y a des serviettes de plage en plus des serviettes de toilette, il y a des matelas gonflables à la piscine en nombre suffisant ainsi qu'un gonfleur et 10 chaises longues. Il y a la climatisation dans chaque chambre. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de quoi cuisiner convenablement, pas de couteaux qui coupent, pas de plats pour le four, un seul saladier de taille moyenne (nous étions six). Il y avait trois toilettes mais une seule pouvait recevoir le papier toilette. Pour les deux autres il fallait mettre le papier dans une petite poubelle qui n'était pas vraiment prévu pour cela. Aux alentours il y a des mini market dont un qui a du choix en dessous d'une taverne. Il y a deux tavernes pour manger. Nous avons fait celle au dessus du mini market, nous étions toujours bien accueillis et on y mange très bien.

Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Heel aangename vakantie mede dankzij het verblijf in deze prachtige woning.

Awesome stone villa

Property was great, as advertised. Spacious outdoor sitting and dining area. Villa had all necessary amenities. Barely used AC despite high temps since stone walls keep it cool. Walking distance to the village with restaurants and stores. Had great time.

Immer wieder sehr gerne

Wir waren mit 7 Erwachsenen vor Ort und hatten alles sehr schön, außer die ersten 4 Tage Wasser...sehr wenig Wasser weil die Anlage defekt war...kann passieren. Die Leute vor Ort und der Vermieter standen zu jederzeit mit uns im Kontakt und der Schaden wurde behoben. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub, die Restaurants im Ort waren die Besten und wir kommen immerhin wieder gerne dort hin. Dankeschön

Relaxing and gorgeous!

This home is beautiful and stays coolish in the August heat with a beautiful breeze. The air conditioning is in the bedrooms below, but not in the main living space. The air conditioning was broken for our stay, which was a bummer. The property manager brought fans for us and we did not suffer with the heat too much. Like most homes in Crete, there are no screens on the windows, so we had to make a choice at night to either fight the bugs or have a breeze. The home has nice amenities - pool toys, grill, lots of cleaners, iron and board, hanging rack, beach umbrella and towels, vacuum, dvds, games, etc. The porch furniture is nice, and the sofas are very comfy. The beds, like all the Cretian beds we experienced in our 3 week stay, are hard, but there are a lot of pillows. The villa had an ant problem while we were there. They were a nuisance. And, we found a few scorpions. (and a cute hedgehog out side in the yard) The yard and view is amazing. The nearby town has a few tavernas and mini marts, and the area is filled with British expats. The nearest beach is 15-20 minutes away.

Wonderful villa

We had a wonderful time in Villa Boreas. The house is spacious with great ocean and mountain views. We were a family of five but there are 8 beds. The pool was cleaned two times during our stay and there were sunbeds and umbrellas for shade. We had contact information to people nearby if anything would happened. The pictures are 100% accurate, the house is as nice as it looks. There is a little village within walking distance even if it is quite a steep road. The village has a couple of nice restaurants and a mini market. If you want to go to the beach there are a few to choose between within 15 minutes’ drive. Before our stay Philip answered all our questions and where easy to access. Arriving late at night the welcome pack was appreciated. I can definitely recommend this house!

July 2020

Our second visit to Villa Boreas, the first in 2018, but this time in the midst of all things covid. The owner was extremely helpful in the run up to arriving, going to great lengths to ensure our arrival went well. He was easily contactable, friendly, and provided detailed and thorough advice and instructions, both for the villa and area in general, and also specifically for the necessary covid measures. The house is bright and clean with the most amazing views along the length of the northern coast of Crete to Rethymno and beyond, and is quiet and peaceful. As a return visitor, it met and surpassed my recollection of it from two years ago. I would, without hesitation, return again.
