Coakley House - Blissfully Uncomplicated Luxury Coupled With Great Adventure.

Coakley House is beautifully situated on a 3.5-acre privately owned point providing a spectacular 180-degree view of the pristine turquoise waters of the Atlantic Sea and Fresh Creek. Located on Andros Island, the largest yet one of the least developed islands in all of the Bahamas, Coakley House promises to exceed your expectations for an amazing adventure, a relaxing retreat for your family and friends, and for countless romantic moments.

Your pleasure and privacy are ensured in this gated, tropical, secluded property once home to the Commander of the British Royal Navy. A small, private white sandy beach and a 35-foot boat dock are conveniently located within the property and provide excellent fishing, snorkeling, swimming and, of course, an idyllic place to soak up a little Caribbean sun.

The main house has been extensively renovated complete with all the amenities and is furnished in fine, colorful Bahamian Island style.

The house has a spacious living room surrounded by windows and opens onto terraces in the front and back both overlooking a gorgeous ocean view. The large dining room with bay windows is great for intimate dining and has ample seating for larger festive gatherings. Or perhaps you will choose to dine al fresco under the shade of the ancient sea grape tree also overlooking the ocean. Or look up at night to take in the mesmerizing array of stars and the moon silhouetted against a coconut palm. And just across the Fresh Creek waterway is an old lighthouse reputed to be a stopping place for pirates, waiting for you and your children to rediscover.

Each of the three master suites in the main house occupies a separate wing offering privacy, ocean views, and breezes from every vantage point, king-sized beds, fine linens and furnishings, and an en suite tiled bath. The fourth bedroom is the perfect spot for children or singles with two cottage-style bunk beds, sleeping a total of four, and a private bath. All bathrooms feature a shower and a bath. There is also an outdoor shower.


Whether you seek one of the many grand adventures Andros has to offer, romance or perhaps a little of both, Coakley House offers an unforgettable experience, both simple and sublime, one which you will treasure and, like so many before you, will wish to repeat.

Perfect Escape

My coworkers and I were doing a small project at AUTEC for the US Navy. There was a scheduling conflict with our base hotel reservations. Megans was fantastic and worked magic to get us a place to stay. And what a place! This will definitely be our preferred place to stay when we work the island.

The Coakley House

My husband and four adult children stayed here for a week in July. Andros is a quiet island so if you like to relax and fish or just take in the gorgeous views from every angle of the home this is the vaca for you . It is a beautiful place to get away from it all. The fishing from our own personal dock was super fun with a multitude of different fish and even sharks. Jr. the home manager was amazing ! He picked us up from the airport and took us anywhere we wanted to go. Jr also took us out on his boat to our own little private island to snorkel ! He was super nice and so very kind and helpful. He really made our stay extra special. Thanks for the memories Coakley House !

Guys trip. Fishing and diving for 5 days.

Coakley House is a unique property in special location. We were a group of six men who have been fishing and diving together for over 40 years. We were interested in exploring south Andros and the Bank north and south of Green Cay. Sadly, we were out in the boat most all day but our time ashore was welcome and relaxing. Kitchen well equipped with everything experienced, capable guys need to fend for themselves. Optional ice maker and chest freezer was invaluable to care for our catch. There is no marina or public fuel option in this part of Andros. The owners and on site manager graciously arranged fuel delivery directly to the dock. We covered a lot of ground with a couple of 160 mile round trip days. Over 400 gallons of diesel was delivered during our visit. We are an experienced and self sufficient group of men who have traveled extensively together and well all over the Bahamas for many years. Even so, we all especially enjoyed our time at Coackley House.

Amazing house with an amazing view!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coakley House. Megan answered all of our questions. Junior looked after our every need once we arrived. He met us at the dock when we first arrived via boat. From there on, we saw Junior daily. He helped us rent a car, provided lots of suggestions on where to eat and Shop- Androsia. Fabrics is a must see. The house has a well stocked kitchen and we enjoyed many wonderful meals with fresh fish we caught that day. The dock was perfect for our boat. The tidal pools entertained our 5 year old for hours. We cannot say enough wonderful things about our trip. Thank you for an amazing vacation!!

what an amazing relaxing property

Coakley house is wonderful and the owners are great. A very relaxing property right on the ocean. Megan was spot on in her assistance and Junior was great showing us around the island for five days. The pier at the house was amazing. My son and son in law actually hooked a shark but it snapped the line. A great time was had by all. I recommend Coakley House for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thanks Again The Nadigs

Relaxing Getaway

Coakley House was everything we expected. Beautiful views everywhere you look. Beautiful patio and outdoor dining area, great views and aquatic life from the dock as well. Andros is definitely a sleepy island, but that’s what we were seeking.

Great

Spent 5 days there with 6 friends from high school fishing and diving on 2 boats. House was excellent. Great views and well stocked kitchen. AC worked great. Pier was perfect . 2 30’ boats fit fine and it was out of the current. Ice machine was a life saver, we used about 100lbs per day. Caretaker, Junior was exceptional! I think that if I asked him for a unicorn, there would be one at the door the next morning. Fishing and diving were good, not many lobster when we were there, but abundant and huge conch. Very safe location, I left the keys in the boat the whole time.

The Coakley House was amazing! Megan was incredibly helpful in preparing for the trip. The house was comfortable and spacious. Junior was amazing and always available to help, recommend places to go, and escort us to them. The people on the island were lovely and eager to have us enjoy their beautiful scenery and culture! What an incredible treasure!

The title sums it up but let me say this is a great property. I have stayed with properties all over the Bahamas/World and I enjoyed this one the best. Great house, property location, dock access all combined with the tranquil “old Bahamas” charm that only Andros can offer. If you and the family or friends want aa incredible watermen getaway the Coakley House will be great. Awesome fishing, diving or any other ocean activity can be had here. Lastly I cannot say enough about the properties caretaker!! We stayed here for a working trip so I’m sure my needs were far more demanding then the regular guest. Everything was handled with unbelievable efficiency and charm. This also included checking in with us the day after we left to confirm our safe arrival as the seas were building the day we left. I don’t think it’s possible to find a better property with better service anywhere in the Bahamas. Additionally I have not had better service at any VRBO property anywhere in the world. Thank you Coakley House!

Beautiful Home - Great for Families

Our family of 4 adults and 2 teenagers really enjoyed our stay at Coakley House. The home itself is very spacious and gives everyone their own space. The kitchen is well stocked and newly renovated. We enjoyed fishing and swimming off the dock and the beautiful patio for reading and hanging out. Junior was a big help to us with some unexpected plumbing issues, taking us for a tour up the creek and giving us some of his own fish when we hadn’t caught any! We would recommend this as a great jumping off point for seeing North Andros. You can walk to get groceries and to the Androsia Batik factory and are close to beaches and blue holes. Junior helped us arrange a great day of fishing with Tano - where we finally caught our own dinner!

Amazing

You don’t have to be a fisherman, just go! It’s so beautiful. Within a tiny cove, between night and day, over a dozen species seen, including an adorable tiny squid! Bonded with a damsel fish who would eat from my hand! Gorgeous pipe fish, puffers, wrasses, tarpons, flounder, sting rays, nasty invasive lion fish ( not the Bahamas fault), gobies, and more...a great snorkeling spot!! The house is beautiful with plenty of room. And tv and WiFi for us addicts in the evening...but really, go out in the day and swim and meet people and eat at the local venues, visit blue holes, and take nature hikes!!

Great House and Amazingly Beautiful Location

The Coakley House Groundskeeper met us right on time and with a big smile and welcoming introduction. He was extremely knowledgeable about the local area, helped get things settled in the house, and stopped by each day to see what we needed. The home is one of the nicest homes I have been in on the out islands of the Bahamas. Very well equipped for cooking, sleeping, nice showers, and a wonderful relaxing outdoor space with patio and docks. The fishing and snorkeling in the area was excellent. The only challenge was being able to get fuel locally for your boat as the local marinas are shut down since the hurricanes a few years ago. If you come by boat to stay here, you should have a plan on where you will go to get fuel if needed. If it was not for he fuel situation I would be giving 5 stars as the owners, house, and staff were great!
