Enjoy one of the best views in Girdwood in a home that has been painstakingly remodeled to be modern and comfortable. Alyeska Ski Resort is located only .3 miles away from your front door, making a short walking trip to the base of the resort easy for you and your fellow travelers. The base also is home to a handful of restaurants and sports shops. The surrounding mountains offer several locations for hiking and mountain biking, both great ways to get the full Alaskan experience in the warm months. If you crave more urban experiences, Anchorage - with its restaurants, shops, museums, and zoo - is a 41.2-mile drive. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is 14.5 miles away.

This spacious home offers its guests a luxury mountain experience. The large windows offer lots of natural light as well as stunning views of the Alaska mountains and woods, also visible from the expansive balconies and decks. Enjoy the feel of a modern cabin kitchen with a ceramic farmhouse sink and open wooden shelves. Stay in and cook a gourmet dinner with a gas range, oven, and full-size french-door stainless refrigerator that allow you to make your own meals. A large dining room table is adjacent with plenty of room for your whole group. Also downstairs is a recreation area, complete with a dartboard and game table. This space doubles as a large staging area for adventure, with plenty of room to spread out your gear or for the kids to play. After a long day enjoying an adventure in Alaska (hiking, biking, glacier tours, wildlife viewing, paragliding, kite surfing, fishing, hunting, and skiing are all within an hour's drive), relax and unwind in our six-person hot tub.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Excellent Stay!

Annual girls trip, house was as advertised- cannot beat the location or those views! We were able to walk to Jack Sprat and trails across the street. Property was clean and there were plenty of games and blankets. My only complaint is that we were given a very small amount of toilet paper (1 and 1/2 small rolls for 4 women) and we did not know where to take the trash. No big deal- would recommend, would stay again and the hot tub was fantastic on those rainy evenings!

Beautiful and Great Location

Our family booked this home for our vacation. It was cebtrally located to everything we wanted to see. We made several day trips to other parts of Alaska from here. We did not realize this was the weekend of the forest fair, but we felt like we had a lot of privacy. It was very quiet. The views were stunning!

Very nice relaxing property. Very easy to communicate with property managers and the description of the chalet was accurate. Very nice view of the mountains from the living room.

Picturesque

Pictures will not do the view any justice. Probably one the best views in Girdwood. Large dining table and living room for large groups. Only one restroom. No closets but plenty of places to hang and store clothes. Upstairs deck half closed (marked only by thin rope) due to beam below broken. No signs to clarify the danger as I have many small nephews and nieces. Vacasa was useless when it came to figuring out where we take our trash when it was full. Used family’s dumpster. Beyond that the house was amazing and exactly what we were looking for and would stay again.

Great location! Our family of 5 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House was clean and well stocked. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this house!

Good not great.

First of all…the management group is horrible. The property was not ready until an hour late. When we communicated to them, the response was severely delayed. For instance, power went out and I texted them at 8PM if there was a generator and we didn’t get a response until after 6AM the next morning. Also, we texted them that we had a full bag of trash…and then two and asked if they had a “bear safe” trash can to drop our bags until check out and they didn’t. But we asked if they would come pick it up and they said someone would contact us in the AM…never happened. I have never stayed in a place that would not respond or accommodate a request. The owners need to ditch this management team. As for the home, it was comfortable. The home was not clean at check in. There were broken potato chips and seeds around a corner table. Also, there were unpopped kernels under the sofas. I re-vacuumed the main room at check in. I’ve NEVER done that before. The home is nice, upstairs kitchen, dining and living was very comfortable. Downstairs are the sleeping rooms and bathroom. The bathroom was clean, spacious and private. A nice mud room at entry. Rooms we’re comfortable. Someone complained on a previous review about the deck partially roped off but it does effect your stay at all. Nice outside grill, nice inside gas kitchen and refrigerator. Washer and dryer are nice. There are stairs which may not be ideal for older couples. The property is on a main drive so there is a lot of noise.

Beautiful views

Great spot in a cute town. The views from this home are incredible, even during our cloudy/rainy 4 days here. Walk to restaurants is easy. Place was VERY clean and had everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. Hot tub was a great asset too! Our kids loved the bunk room and toys and books they had. Would highly recommend!

Amazing location and view

Exactly as described, pictures don’t do the view justice. Close enough to walk to shops and restaurants in Girdwood, yet also private and quiet. Hot tub was great addition.

Great Location, Fantastic Family room with View

Loved the location. Close to resort, restaurants, and hiking/biking trails. Great coffee shop within 6-8 min walk. Family/tv room has a beautiful view…open and a lot of light. Everything was clean. Limited supplies…only one toilet paper roll (other VRBOs we’ve having been staying at have full supplies of paper towels/toilet paper, etc). Get your supplies in Anchorage because local grocery store is very expensive. Great big wooden dining table (not shown in pictures)…seats many. Newly renovated kitchen with plenty of pans/kitchen utensils. Decent blackout curtains/blinds in bedrooms for summertime. Hot tub was a plus…therapeutic grade. Great after hiking. Deck needs some repairs. Be careful of loose rails. Our main issue was the lack of communication with property manager. Payment became due but no email, reminder, or link provided to pay for it. I sent a message through VRBO app but no response. When I finally found a number to call, they reported they had tried to run the credit card but said it was denied. They did not try to call us nor does our credit card company report any decline. Then when we arrived in area, they had sent the wrong directions to the house. Ended up at another location. When using Google Maps, it gave a rough area but we missed the driveway because there aren’t any markings at the road/entrance. Other properties have flower planters/addresses at the street but not this one. In the summer it’s very thick with trees/bushes, and the house was very difficult to locate. Overall, we liked the layout (other than only one bathroom) and would stay there again.

Perfect for family!

This place is amazing. The views that you see in the online pictures won't disappoint...you'll want to sit in the living room and marvel at the mountains. This place was IMMACULATE...and that's saying something coming from us because we are neat freaks! Very well equipped kitchen which was perfect because we make most of our own meals. We had my wife and I, 3 adult children and two kiddos, total of 7, and we were very comfortable. Only downside is the single bathroom but you just have to plan ahead. Perfect location for sightseeing/hiking in the area, and I would imagine if you're a skiier and here in the winter it would be great for that too.

Alaska adventure 2021

We had an amazing time the house was perfect and clean had everything we needed the hot tub was a bonus the surrounding area had lots of hiking trails glaciers to see and the tram to the restaurant on top of the mountain was the most awesome view that was overwhelming and breath taking a must do! Lovely View and Location

The view is amazing, as is the location in Girdwood. We did quite a bit of driving to different areas and for different experiences. The grill worked great as did everything else. Kitchen is well stocked! The Alyeska resort and hotel just up the street has 2 awesome restaurants, hiking trails and a Tram/Gondola ride to the top of the mountain where there is another lovely restaurant with quite a view. Walking trails across the street are also very nice and easy to use. We used the hot tub on average once a day for sure. Was perfect!

Excellent vacation space!

In a word - wonderful! We chose this spot based on great photos and fantastic reviews and it exceeded our expectations as far as close views of the mountains! The kitchen is so well equipped, and hot tub and washer/dryer great bonuses. A perfect place for our family of 6 and two under 2 😊! Lots of games and toys to entertain little ones. Thanks for sharing a perfect place for our family - would highly recommend!!

Perfect home in the forest, yet close to everything

Even though the photos are great, this home is even better in person. It was one of the best VRBOs we’ve stayed anywhere over the last 20 years. The views out of the wall of windows are incredible. Everything was spotless. The house is very thoughtfully done with a dart board and cork protection around it so I didn’t need to tell my kids to be more careful. The furniture and beds were super comfortable. We all wanted to stay longer. We walked to great restaurants from the house and also cooked multiple meals in the kitchen. We had everything we needed and more. We walked to hiking trails from the home. We saw a black bear about half a mile away along a trail we had just hiked. We are planning to return. Thanks for sharing your home.

The best place in Girdwood!

Gorgeous property! Fantastic view! Home was beautiful and very well taken care of. It was perfect for our family of 8. We enjoyed the hot tub! We even got to see wildlife out the window- bear and moose! The only thing a parent may want to be made aware of, is this house is located on a busier street. My kids are older and don’t run away, but if you have a toddler who hasn’t mastered staying close by and obeying when you say “stop” then know that there is a busy road at the end of 30’ish driveway (front stairs to driveway length) There are kid toys around the house which is a bonus! And lots of places to hang wet clothes/ shoes. Lots of extra details and care for into this propert for guests and we LOVED it!

What a Fabulous View!

We absolutely loved this house. It has a great location, great view and is well maintained. The house has everything that could be needed in the kitchen as well as throughout the house. The only bummer is that it only has one bathroom and a tiny washer and dryer BUT the rest of the house more than makes up for those minor inconveniences!!! We will definitely be back!
