"I strongly disagree with a a method of rating that rates 8-10 as good to excellent and 1-7 as poor. Think of your staff and how you can make their experience and expectations better over customers who will stay 1-2 nights and can complain about the thing and it’s probably been the best sleep and breakfast they’ve had in a long time. Think about your staff in the strange rating culture that we live in, please!"

"Our stay was excellent. All the staff are exceptional from the moment we arrived. From the reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff & cleaners they all welcomed us. They always had a smile and treated us with respect. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious with a good selection. Although the hotel is close to a busy road it did not disturb us at all. The bed was comfortable. We will certainly be back. Thank you. "

"An excellent property in the beautiful countryside with gorgeous gardens obviously looked after by enthusiastic gardeners. 🌳🌹🪻🪷 The decor is fitting to this country mansion and the whole house is very clean, and my bedroom was exceptionally clean and well stocked with soap, shampoo etc. and my bed very comfortable giving me a good night’s sleep 💤 The food offers a wide range for everyone’s taste and the quality is far better than many city 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in! "The Barns Hotel is a great place to stay. Staff are very accommodating and friendly, room was comfortable and clean and there is free parking. The restaurant served reasonably priced food and the breakfast was lovely. The manager kept the bar open until we had all returned from a local festival. We would stay here again in the future 😁 "

"Great place for football lovers. Beautiful building, Spacious and clean. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. There is history, memorabilia and pictures of English football history and current achievements. The spa facilities are awesome and the staff too. No regrets and will definitely return. Just one negative was that our room had a shower but not a bath. I love to have a long hot bath when away but they tried to move us but the alternative rooms weren't suitable for us....

"Nice, clean with a nice local pub right across the courtyard. Very handy. However the pub is only open limited hours and no where else to eat within walking distance except a fish n chips joint. We stayed in apartment 3. Suited our family of 4 well, but note there is no mini fridge or micro that a family might hope for. Walls are thin too but not a big deal. "

"One night stay whilst visiting the races. Very convenient for centre of town and racecourse. Free parking at rear of hotel which was good. Skipped breakfast as it ended at 9.30 am. So popped over Wetherspoons instead only 2 minutes walk."

"mostly positive stay at this hotel. Although parking was quite tight, I managed to find a space without too much trouble. Check-in was fast and efficient, and the room was clean, tidy, and free of any odours. The shower was a highlight—powerful with impressively hot water. My only real complaint is that the floors were extremely creaky throughout the building, which could be a bit distracting. "
