My family had a wonderful time at Casa Mariposa! The setup was great for our group of 17 which included grandparents (we took the casita for the privacy), our kids and spouses, and grandkids ages 2-12. We enjoyed walking the beach, playing in the sand, reading and relaxing in the hammocks, lounge chairs and bed swing, massages, and people watching. The little grandkids especially loved the pool. It was amazing how many people came out for sunset each day. The proximity to the town square was fun for quick meals, gelato or a little shopping. The new Chedraui was great for picking up supplies. Amir was super helpful for all of our needs. Definitely bring bug spray, some of us were eaten alive and others hardly touched, but there were a lot of mosquitoes at dusk especially.

Holbox Paradise

The entire team from Guada to Omar to Pati, helping make arrangements, maintain the property and clean, were all absolutely amazing. The connected houses were the perfect size for our group of 6, but could have easily added more people. The beds are comfy. the kitchens have all the right tools and appliances. And, the location of the house is perfect. It is walking distance to most anything you would want to see or do, and easy to grab a taxi if you have to go further. Highly recommended. And, really especially thankful to the whole team who made sure we were looked after and happy the whole time.

Spring Break with a house full of teens

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Mariposa. It was exactly what we were looking for, with a house full of teens. Enough space and amenities for everyone, in a location that was safe and easy to walk to nearby restaurants and activities. The host (Guadalupe) was wonderful with helping to make recommendations and reservations for activities and dinners. The staff (part and Omar) were great with keeping the grounds clean, grocery shopping for us and helping with anything we may need. We highly recommend doing yoga on the beach, a yacht excursion for the day, kayaking the bioluminescence (please kayak as opposed to golf cart- the stars alone are worth it), enjoy local salsa dancing, and the massages we arranged right at the house were the best ones we have ever had.

Lovely team at Casa Marioposa!

Wonderful stay! Very comfortable lodging and the outdoor area was spectacular. The whole team was so helpful, friendly, and really added to our vacation. Great location to shopping and restaurants. Really enjoyed our time there!

Three wonderful vacations, three years in a row at Casa Mariposa

We spent a wonderful week in Casa Mariposa (Our third year in a row). Omar and Patty did an outstanding job of maintaining the property clean (we were there with 5 kids, ages 10-16). Ricardo cooked all of our breakfast meals. They were tasty and cooked to order. The accommodations are great and the house is spacious enough to provide space for each of our 10 guests. And the location is perfect for us to go into town or walk up and down the beach. And one bonus we discovered on this trip is that the Dream hotel next door will deliver meals to Casa Mariposa (including drinks). We will be back next year. Thank you again to Ricardo, Omar and Patty.

Plenty to Like

Our first time to Holbox and Casa Mariposa was sublime. This location - easy walking distance to restaurants, proximity to beach clubs and bars, and prime beachfront - was better than we could have hoped for, plus the accommodations and chef options were well arranged. Thank you Guada!

Perfect family vacation

We had an amazing time at Casa Mariposa. Guada, Omar, and Patti were all very helpful. They all made our stay almost worry free. Our transportation from Cancun airport to Isla Holbox was pre-arranged prior to our arrival. Although there were some clarifications needed along the way, everything went pretty smoothly. The only issue was that we lost water supply in house 2 from 4pm until the next morning. We were told that it was an issue in the whole island but the other 2 houses had no issues with their supply. We also lost power for short periods of time in 2 consecutive days but it was brief. Other than that, all the rooms and bathrooms including the kitchen in all 3 houses were just what we needed!!! This rental has 3 separate houses which was perfect for our family. We had the privacy we wanted and needed.

Amazing Holbox! Fantastic Location!

We stayed at Casa Mariposas with three families on Spring Break. 6 adults and 9 children ages 7-16. Casa Mariposas fit us perfectly. Plenty of comfortable rooms and beds for all. Three kitchen spaces. Lots of bathrooms. Outside space is perfect for long days of fun. Best parts of Casa Mariposas was 1. Location (short walk downtown, great beach, bar/restaurant next door to order food/drinks!). 2. Patti, the housekeeper and Omar, the groundskeeper. Cleaned everyday. Did laundry for us! Came quickly if we had any issues! 3. Guadalupe, our host. Helped with transportation, activities, communication, etc. 4. Our chef! We hired a chef for all of our breakfasts and two dinners. Best meals we had on Holbox. And so convenient! If there were any negatives about the casa, it would be the racoons on the property. Hard to avoid, but they were very present. Didn't bother us directly. But they slept above the patios during the day. And took over the property at night. Any droppings or concerns we had were handled quickly however! We had a wonderful vacation on Isla de Holbox and Casa Mariposa is a wonderful choice for your next vacation!

Amazing experience

The property and the host were wonderful. Perfect space for our guests - had children ages 8-13 and adults for a 50th birthday celebration. We loved the location - walk into town and restaurants along the beach - and the home is beautiful. Our hostess was so accommodating and helpful with anything that arose during our stay. Highly recommend this home and you will never be disappointed in Holbox!

Cumpleanos @ Casa Mariposa

Casa Mariposa was the PERFECT place to spend my birthday with friends and family! Since we had multiple families join, the split of the home areas and the casita was a nice way to provide some privacy. All areas were well stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable during our visit (AC, board games and puzzles, basic toiletries). We did a pretty thorough exploration of the Isla Holbox coastline, and I can say with confidence that Casa Mariposa is best located. We were conveniently located to the pier so we didn't have to wake up TOO too early for our whale shark adventure. We were also able to easily go to and from Casa Mariposa and Casa Las Tortugas for spa appointments. Casa Mariposa still remained private and quiet during the evening, despite proximity to many great bars and restaurants. Guadalupe was extremely helpful in coordinating transportation and organizing a private chef for our first night. My only disappointment was that the jacuzzi was pool-temperature, though a hot jacuzzi was hardly needed to relax. I will definitely return to Casa Mariposa!

Casa Mariposa at Holbox did NOT dissapoint

Our group booked this property to celebrate our friends 40th birthday, we had never even heard of La Isla Holbox before but based our booking on the fact that they house looked amazing and was on the water! Jorge the property manager was very communicative with me from the start! Jorge organized for us to have the groceries there that we had requested, a chef for the meal we requested and he arranged our transportation to and from the airport- this included a van ride, a ferry and a taxi cart to the house. When we arrived the chef had dinner waiting for us and we got a tour of the property from Andrea (the house is basically a duplex with 2 mirror images- total of 6 bedrooms). Andrea the other property manager was super responsive via Whats App, anything we needed she had there for us, ran out of water- it was there within minutes, wanted massages and she had 3 masseuses there the next day! The cleaning lady Maunuela was there everyday making sure the house was clean, beds were made and that we had fresh towels! Ricardo the chef made all of our breakfasts and 2 dinners for us- super yummy and he cleaned up after, made it feel like a real vacation! The island itself is magic. It still feels like an un touched gem of Mexico, the tourists seemed to be mostly Mexicans from other states or Europeans, it felt great and authentic to not have an Americanized version of Mexico! (I selfishly didnt want to leave a good review or tell people about it in hopes that it would stay that way) Our entire group of 14 people fell in love with the island and we all 100% want to come back and stay at Casa Mariposa.

Great place for a family get together

Everyone had a wonderful time. The beach was so convenient and the pool area a great place to gather and play games. Everyone enjoyed the freedom to explore the town center. The teenagers even played basketball with the local kids. Thanks to a wonderful staff who were very prompt and attentive to all ofour questions and concerns.

Great getaway!

Multigenerational family vacation and everyone was happy. House has private beach area and is also close to some of the best restaurants (especially the 2 best breakfast/ Le Jardin and Manglu) House was very clean. Beds were super comfortable. FYI- WiFi is spotty but that is the entire island. My only suggestion would be area rugs or mats by the beds ( the house was clean, but as it’s on the beach it’s hard to make it all the way to bed without a few grains on your feet). Wonderful stay and we will be back!

Perfect beach escape

The entire process was seamless. Communication prior to arrival was prompt and once we arrived any issue or question was answered immediately. Cleaning and property staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Highly recommend this property if you have a large party and are looking to be in an excellent location!

Great Private Beach

We have a large family and use VRBO for our vacations quite often. This was one of the rare occasions that everything functioned well and the home was better than anticipated. We rented both sides of the house as well as four rooms next door at Holbox Dreams and the homes were plenty big enough for our group of 16 to socialize inside and out. The AC was cold and the showers were hot and we had access to both washing machines. The private beach had more chairs than we needed and the ocean was calm and only feet away from the pool. Megan and Chuy were very responsive before and during our trip. Holbox is a really wonderful place and this home gave us a fantastic location to explore the island only a few blocks from town.
