The charming kingdom atop Villa Marie in Oberbärenburg

This historic villa, a designated landmark, offers a peaceful setting, enchanting views, and three charming vacation apartments. Over a hundred years of eventful history have shaped this country house in Oberbärenburg. The renovation project focused on preserving the charm of the historic spaces while creating a light-filled, livable structure that meets modern and ecological standards. The room names “Schwalbennest” and “Himmelreich” from the past, complemented by “Platzhirsch” as a synonym for the villa, now serve as a bridge to the three vacation homes for up to 3, 4, or 5 people—accommodating a total of 12 happy vacationers!

The “Himmelreich” vacation apartment was created in 2022 through the renovation of the attic rooms. The result is an attractive 95-square-meter studio, accessed via a private hallway on the first floor. From there, you reach the attic, which features a spacious, open living area (facing north) and a kitchen with high-quality built-in appliances and a dining area (facing south). It also features two sleeping areas (1 double bed facing west; 2 single beds plus an extra bed facing east), as well as a bathroom. Thoughtfully designed right up to the roofline, our wonderful vacation home—or “Himmelreich”—is truly a paradise!
