🌿 ORGANIC FARM IN AN OLD WINE PRESS, AN OASIS OF PEACE NEAR MÁLAGA

Welcome to Hacienda Mellado, an organic farm located in an old wine press from the late 19th century, restored using green building criteria and surrounded by almond trees, olive trees and the mountains of Málaga.

Located nearby Ermita de las Tres Cruces in Estacion de Cartama, it is just 30 km from Malaga city and 45 km from Caminito del Rey, this unique enclave offers a natural, peaceful and deeply inspiring environment for all kinds of meetings and mindful getaways.

Hacienda Mellado is not just a place, it is an experience. Here, every corner tells a story, every activity leaves its mark and every encounter becomes a memory.

During winter the warm fireplaces make it even nicer to share special moments with friends and family. On ground floor there is an historic wood kichen in use , and on first floor a fireplace at the "Yoga" room and a wood stove at the double bedroom. January is the best time to go a nearby almond trees blossom.

🛏️ ECO-FRIENDLY AND COSY ACCOMMODATION

We offer eco-friendly, functional and cosy accommodation, designed to encourage coexistence, rest and connection with the environment.

It has three shared bedrooms, which are basic but spacious and cosy, decorated with rustic charm and with a capacity for 16 people.

There are three bathrooms with a total of 5 sinks, 5 showers and 3 toilets.

The rural house has three bedrooms

• Blue Bedroom (2 people): Double bed with external bathroom. On the upper floor, it retains part of the old kitchen as a decorative feature and has a wood-burning stove for winter nights.

• Colours Bedroom (8 people): There are 8 bunk beds with an en-suite bathroom. On the upper floor, it is a cheerful and functional space, perfect for groups of friends or families with children. Natural lighting with beautiful views.

• Arco Bedroom (6 people): It has 6 bunk beds with an external bathroom. On the ground floor, under the old archway where horses used to enter with grapes for wine, there is a room steeped in history.

Bed linen and towels are included. Overnight stays in tents or caravans outside are also permitted, upon request.

BATHROOMS: There are 3 full bathrooms with showers and eco-friendly amenities included. There is 1 bathroom on the ground floor and 2 bathrooms on the first floor.

🍽️ KITCHENS AND DINING ROOM

• Main kitchen: fully equipped for free use.
• Rustic kitchen: with stone oven and wood-burning stove.
• Kitchen in the yoga room: functional and practical for catered events.
• Traditional dining room: capacity for 30 people, with wood-burning stove and typical Andalusian décor.

(There are conventional ovens but no microwaves).

The estate has stable Wi-Fi in common areas, but there is hardly any mobile coverage, allowing you to truly disconnect from digital noise. Ideal for concentrating, resting, or reconnecting with what matters most.

The estate has multiple indoor and outdoor spaces designed to suit all kinds of gatherings with friends, family or businesses.

• Yoga Room: 80 m² with panoramic windows, fireplaces, integrated kitchen and terrace. Ideal for classes, talks, group sessions or presentations.

• ‘Tinajas’ Room: 60 m² with benches integrated into old tinajas (earthenware jars), perfect for tastings, workshops, team building or informal meetings.

• South and North Patios: shaded areas, sun loungers, benches and native vegetation for outdoor activities, meals or moments of relaxation.

• Cobbled courtyard: spacious outdoor area, ideal for snacks or outdoor activities.

• Natural viewpoints: spectacular views of the Malaga mountains, perfect for meditation, photography or simply contemplation.

• More than 30 days in advance: 100% refund
• Between 30 and 7 days in advance: 50% refund
• Less than 30 days: no refund

🌸 SEASONAL ACTIVITIES: experience the estate at every moment of the year

WINTER (December–February):
The estate becomes a warm and cosy retreat. The lit fireplaces, wood-burning stove and silence of the valley create the perfect atmosphere for gatherings with family or friends.
In January, the almond trees blossom, transforming the landscape into an explosion of white and pink, ideal for photography sessions, outdoor yoga, mindful walks and personal renewal activities.
The perfect time to visit Caminito del Rey or Malaga city.

SPRING (March–May):
Nature awakens and everything blooms. It is the ideal season for family celebrations and energy retreats. The mild temperatures allow you to enjoy outdoor meals, forest bathing and cultural routes through Cártama Pueblo. We recommend visiting the nearby Sierra de las Nieves National Park and the surrounding villages. At the beginning of May, the popular Verdiales Festival is held nearby, at the Ermita de las Tres Cruces, where you can enjoy the most authentic local singing, dancing and culture.



SUMMER (June–August):
Although hot, the surroundings offer natural shade, cool patios and naturally ventilated indoor spaces. It is the perfect base for visiting the beaches of the Costa del Sol, just a 40-minute drive away, or you can drive to the Estación de Cártama local train station to visit the beaches of Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena or Fuengirola.
Al fresco dining, stargazing, evening strolls or simply listening to the sound of silence to round off the day.

AUTUMN (September–November):
The golden light and mild climate make this one of the most special times of year, with pleasant temperatures for any kind of activity in the area. It is also harvest season, so you can organise oil workshops, local product tastings and interpretive tours of the olive groves.
