A short walk from the town centre brings you to Hulne Park (0.5 miles), where thick woodlands and quiet ruins feel wonderfully untamed. For a day at the coast, Alnmouth Beach, Howdiemont Sands, and Sugar Sands are all within 7 miles, offering you plenty of options for a traditional day at the seaside.

Step inside the light and bright atrium and catch the lift to the second floor, where you'll discover the entrance to your pretty bolthole. Enter into the open-plan living space where you can crash out on the three-seater sofa or unwind in the armchair. Watch your favourite shows on the Smart TV before using the helpful amenities to whip up a feast in the kitchen. There is a central dining table to gather around, which overlooks the garden below. At bedtime, there are two bedrooms to choose from. The king-size bed is modern and opens out to a balcony, which is a joy for enjoying breakfast in bed. The super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (can be made into a twin on request) is decorated with crisp linens, pops of colour and offers plenty of storage. The bathroom is stylish and is perfect for those late-night soaks in the tub.

Enjoy a glass of wine before dinner or a freshly percolated coffee on the west-facing balcony. Curl up with a book on the bench or watch the sun creep behind the trees.
