  • Casa de Colores is exactly that! Filled with vibrant colors throughout the house. Located on the north end of Half Moon it’s an easy walk to Yal Ku Lagoon and Half Moon Bay. This house features four bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms plus there is a half bath in the common area. All of the bedrooms are furnished with king beds except for the Orange room which features a double futon and queen bed. The connected casita has a separate kitchenette and a small sitting area in addition to the sleeping area. There is a king bed in the casita.

    The well equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking or not! Enjoy sharing meals in the dining area but feel free to dine al fresco on the patio! Take a refreshing dip in the private pool or just relax under the palapa shade. Casa de Colores is located on a rocky beach, but superb snorkeling is just a short walk away at Half Moon Bay or Yal Ku Lagoon! Take the collectivo, or a bicycle to downtown Akumal, it’s inexpensive and fun! With wireless internet and SMART TV, you feel right at home!

    An ocean view from almost any room in Casa de Colores is exceptional. Catch the ocean breeze while enjoying a siesta in the hammocks on the roof. This colorful villa is perfect for family reunions, a wedding party, or just a large group.

Lovely private vacation home!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a wonderful week with our 4 kids and their partners, great views and perfect temps! Lovely breeze and the wave sounds at night were delightful - missing it so much!! I would reccomend this place to any family!

WONDERFUL PLACE!! Casa de colores was ideal for our group of eleven. Loved the house with bathrooms in each bedroom. The pool was perfect. The caretakers came daily to take care of the house and were amazing. The town of Akumal is super cute with great restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend the Chef Service and renting golf carts. We will be back.

Absolutely perfect

We stayed at Casa de Colores as a group of nine, age range from teens to seniors. The house and grounds are beautiful, and the information from Shelly is super helpful to plan your stay. Everyone had their own space and there was so much to do in the surrounding area, or just to stay at the house and relax!

Loved our stay. It had everything, great location and wonderful views.

I would highly recommend this place. Not a thing we could have wanted more and the beds were comfortable. Enjoyed watching the stars at night on the rooftop while swinging in the hamaca and a nice Tequila. Very relaxing.

I loved this view! I wish it wasn’t so rocky but definitely beautiful to look at. House was just as described with plenty of space. Definitely one I would rent again!

wonderful vacation

We were so very happy with this property! Very clean and beautiful. All beds were comfortable, kitchen was well appointed, nice grill to use. We had plenty of beach towels, however it would have been nice to have more than one bath towel per guest to use. Having yal ku lagoon so close to snorkel in was enjoyable. We hope to be back again soon!

Casa de Colores was wonderful. Designed to maximize the views, spacious accommodations with total privacy. A very good husband and wife staff; super helpful owners.. Terrific oceanfront location near Yal-Ku lagoon in Akumal. Our combined families of 9 all loved this house! PS Lobster tail special dinner on Friday nights at La Lunita.

Wonderful stay all around

The location is perfect, right next to the Yal-Ku Lagoon, close to a few fantastic restaurants, but far enough away that you get some peace and quiet as well. The house was lovely, and provided the perfect home base for the family. The host and team accommodated us last second, and we're so happy that it worked out. Could not make enough positive comments about the entire team and experience at Casa de Colores.

Amazingly beautiful home

The whole process was very smooth. What I loved the most was that I was able to communicate with everyone and get a timely response. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Specially Gabby & Zulma they were very attentive to our needs. Can’t wait to go back again.

The perfect getaway!

Our small party of five (two adults, three kids aged 8, 6 and 4) totally enjoyed our stay at Casa de Colores! Every detail was perfect - the rooms so comfortable, more than enough space to spread out (even for a much larger party), wonderful views, the staff were lovely, the house was well stocked and Akumal, especially the quiet north end of the road, is a gem. We hated to head home!

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux, la villa est superbe, de grandes chambres avec sa propre salle bain ,une pièce à vivre très grande face à la mer, rien ne manquait. Tout est fait pour que l'on se sente chez soi. Gaby et zulma sont très discrets et toujours là pour nous donner un conseil.. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

Awesome Vacation

The house is located in the town of Akumal which is between Tulum and Playa Del Carmen. It’s a great location for activities. Akumal is a nice little town that has some great local restaurants and a nice beach area. The house was clean and the house cleaners were friendly and did a great job. We had 12 people and everyone had a fantastic time. The host was easy to communicate with and gave us great ideas and clear instructions along with a packet of information before we arrived. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

Spectacular house!

Casa de colores was even better than we had anticipated. The view is gorgeous, the house spacious and comfortable. Gabby and Zulma are friendly and helpful and keep the house in great shape. We loved feeling the sea breeze blowing through the windows and relaxing by the pool. The nearby snorkeling was wonderful at Yal-Ku and only a 5 minute walk away. The people of Akumal were friendly and welcoming. My family and I plan to return in the years to come.

Beautiful property

Well-designed/thought-out house. As advertised. 4 excellent rooms in main house, ample common space, separate casita w/ privacy but still feels close. Great balcony and roof overlooking ocean. Responsive property manager and friendly daily maid & gardener. Partially secluded neighborhood/strip along the bay. Rented golf cart, which was great. Would/may stay again.

Home away from Home

House is located ocean front with a breath taking view. Our family of 12 fell in love with the house and the service provided. Zulma and Gaby showed up every day except on Sunday to clean the house and leave it spotless, the kitchen staff Chef Carlos and assistant Carlos did everything to cater to us every single meal (extra fee to have this service but it's so worth it) the house is exactly as described as is fo well kept. Akumal is a beautiful town with so much to do and enjoy with family.

Private Rooms with great gathering space!

Casa De Colores is beautiful! So lovely this is our second time being there. Last time was about 10 years ago. It is a beautiful location. The rooms are private enough for each couple to have space and still have time together as a family. Hugo was the property manager and was amazingly responsive! Pool is a little chilly but my 12 year old was in it every day. Golf carts to get around are best for the location.

We Loved Casa de Colores!

We Loved Casa De Colores. There were 4 in our group and we all had our own private suite! The house is very light and is beautifully appointed just like the photos. The lagoon 1/2 blk away, has fantastic snorkling and very protected. We found the house staff to be very helpful and the house was perfectly clean. It was the perfect place to escape our cold winter. There were several wonderful restaurants in Akumal and everyone was very happy with the variety. The house comes with a book detailing activities and places to see. Highly recommended

Spring Break 2010

Wonderful Place. So rustic and romantic and perfect for our family. Took our children 9 & 11 for Spring Break along with another family & their 3 children. It was the perfect size home. Did not need the Casita. Everyone had such a wonderful time. We rented golf carts and only left the village once for Sian Kan tour. We had a cook(David Plancencia) come 3 nights and explored the local restaurants the others. Snorkeling was great(lagoon close by) as well as Lo Ha Beach(turtles would swim right next to you) My ONLY complaint was the rough roadway through the village but that's rustic for you! Would recommend to couples or families.

We Had An Awesome "Girls Week" Getaway

I had a wonderful time at Casa de Colores in August 2011. The house is absolutely beautiful and perfect. It is exactly as described on these pages. It is spotless, clean and sparkling. Having the daily clean up from the local friendly man and wife couple who take care of the house made it like having 5-star hotel room maid and pool service. Everything is in the house that you could every need and I cannot think of single detail that has been overlooked or that I would change. Akumal is a delightful, peaceful town. It is a great place to get away from the traditional tourist destinations and really experience the generous heart of Mexico's people and the local culture. And there is no shortage of unique things to do and amazing places to visit in the nearby vicinity. Thank you for the opportunity to provide this feedback.

Amazing view - Spacious modern and clean!

Beautiful, clean modern house with lots of room. The ocean breeze keeps the place cool and the bugs away. Amazing views of the ocean across the rocks with a sandy beach a short walk away. Also close to snorkeling in Yal-Ku which was great but get there early to beat the crowds! The house is near the end of the road which makes it pleasantly remote from the main beach and resorts at Akumal. It was great to have the pool on the leeward side of the house, especially for kids. Staff there every day to clean the house. The house is laid out well for a big group with kids, there is an upstairs living room the kids can retreat to. Good restaurants within walking distance. Very quiet neighborhood. Review from 13 year old: Favorite things - Rapunzel tower (casita), animals, iguanas, pool, roof deck with hammocks, shell collecting, hiding above bed on shelf.

Stunning location

The space was perfect for our get-together of three couples with small kids. Being right on the ocean - hearing it all night, having the views throughout the house, etc - is simply extraordinary. The beach isn't a swimming beach but it was fun to explore the rocks and the sea life with our little kids. In general, the house is very comfortable for families and the staff is extraordinarily accommodating. We expected a little more interaction with the team but they are reserved and we had our space - that was just fine for us. We ended up hiring a different chef than the one that was recommended and had out-of-this-world meals at a very affordable price. We appreciated being able to bring in our own service provider. USA Transfers was a great option for roundtrip airport transportation ($199 USD for our group of 10 people). We loved that Shelly gave such detailed recommendations and in general felt the space very well equipped for the family-oriented experience we were seeking.
