  • Take it easy at this unique and peaceful getaway. This is a private one bedroom side apartment on our home with secure keypad entry.
    Cozy yet comfortable, off the beaten path but not far from anything in the Keweenaw, you'll enjoy your stay at this renovated former antique store apartment in the sleepy village of Ahmeek. 35 minutes to Copper Harbor, 30 minutes to Mount Bohemia, 10 minutes to Historic Calumet.
    Back country skiing and easy biking trails behind the village, ask your host! Make it an evening routine to drive minutes to the Gratiot river preserve to catch the beautiful lake Superior sunsets.
    EV charging station at the ice cream shop two blocks away.
    Peaceful backyard with patio furniture and grill shared with hosts. Private keypad entry to the unit.

We enjoyed the stay. The host communicated promptly in advance and during checking if all was Ok. The accommodations were comfortable & quiet. Great location for short drive up the Keewenaw or the other direction to calumet, Hancock & Houghton. The recommendations of stops & restaurants were extremely helpful being first time travelers to the peninsula. Highly recommend.

This is a great place for a couple to stay! Very nicely decorated and super clean, Carl had nice touches throughout including an extra toothbrush if needed, a hair dryer, a lint roller and a steam iron. We appreciated the well stocked coffee bar with snacks too! We did not love the mattress, but we have a sleep number at home so we must be harder to please. The location was great for exploring the Keweenaw and visiting our son at MTU. Thanks Carl!

great place for a couple to stay. communication was excellent, the rooms were clean and cozy. the roku tv was frustrating to use, if not for that this would have been a rating!

Everything was ready for our arrival and the host was sure to let us know if we needed anything, to just contact him. The house was warm and welcoming and had everything we needed.

This property is a clean and comfy gem in the heart of the Keewenaw Peninsula. We planned to explore the entire peninsula and within 30 minutes from this location, we were able to see Copper Harbor, Eagle River, Houghton/Hancock, so much copper mining history as well as beautiful waterfalls and Lake Superior views.The host was very responsive and had the property stocked with everything we needed. Our host included brochures from area attractions and recommended restaurants, grocery stores, and the best pizza in the area. I have already recommended this property to several friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfect all around!

This VRBO was a nice surprise.The property was recently renovated, was clean, tastefully decorated and had all the conveniences for a perfect stay.Staying here was added to the great memories of our 2025 UP trip.

Loved this place

Was in town for my 40th class reunion. Perfect place. Very clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again. Very nice hosts.

Our stay in Ahmeek was very good. The apartment was very cozy and Carl had put together a listing of favorite places to visit and eat. We found it very helpful! We loved the area. We will definitely stay here again if we’re in the UP!
