19th century villa cosmakis

Villa Cosmakis, a luxurious residence, built back in the 19th century, renovated and fully equipped with all modern comforts, promises to offer you, moments of total relaxation and joy in the peaceful village of Rodakino, in magical Crete. Villa Cosmakis constitutes out of two properties, about the smaller house, it comes extra when there is a fifth or sixth person. Of course we can provide it extra under request.

Cosmakis was by the 1920 the nickname of our family's grandpa, who traveled as an immigrant and worked for about 10 years in Chicago, America, while seeking for a better life. George Katakis, as his real name was, was born in 1896 and bought one of the oldest houses of the area, in 1918, after coming back from America. While talking with his fellow villagers about all the experiences he got from an unknown to them country, George mentioned the word "cosmakis" (cosmakis in greek means world). they found it a weird and funny thing to hear, so they named him after it. And today, almost 100 years later, we find ourselves naming, in our turn, the villa after him. "Villa Cosmakis" a home from us, to anyone around the world who decides to visit!
The original character and the cretan traditional architecture has been preserved and taken under serious consideration during renovation. A huge, impressive arch, that holds the foundation of the house over the centuries, the "ontades" and antique - everyday items and decoration are some of the most characteristic features of the residence, which consists of the main - arch home and an independent home- suit right next doors.
The main - arch house can host up to 4 people in semi autonomous bedrooms, that look like attics and in cretan greek are called "ontades", as stated. The ontades philosophy allows roommates and families to maintain and strengthen their inner bonds by providing a more direct, immediacy based form of relation and communication. The suit, on the other hand, feels ideal for up to 2 persons, couple or not (there's a king sized double bed that can be seperated if wanted).
As for facilities, the "Kamarospito" (the arch house) has a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub, a large fully equipped kitchen (+washing machines for both clothes and dishes), a dinning room and a relaxing livingroom. The smaller home next door has its own sitting room, a small kitchen, bathroom and dressing room. Both houses have a free wi-fi connection, radios, TVs etc (chek for more facilities down the page) and a big, shared yard with sea and mountain view.
About the smaller house-the master suite, it comes extra when there is a fifth or sixth person. That's the reason there is an extra charge when there are five or six people. Of course we can provide it extra under request.
