Hotel is worn down and clearly could use an upgrade-lots of flaking off paint/rust in areas that made it quite overpriced but it was likely that it was a holiday weekend. Nice that it's dog-friendly. Only two elevators for the whole hotel which made it very challenging having to bring down luggage carts (one woman literally waited 12 elevators before she could get on with her stuff. "Been staying at the Whitney Peak Hotel for more than twenty years. It has gone downhill recently - probably related to the Hilton purchase. Some of the staff seem to be out-to-lunch. Asked for a restaurant recommendation and was directed to Denny's. Not OK. The Whitney Peak is still the only hotel in Reno I am aware of that does not have a casino and does not allow smoking. Still important to me. Room was clean. Bedframes appear to have been replaced with cheap junk. Headboards too. Very hard to...

"The hotel looked pretty good, clean, and the staff was great, but there were a few things that made the stay stressful. After getting into the room there were no towels. I tried calling the lobby but the phone didn’t go through so I had to walk over the lobby to get those. A moment later we realized that the sink was clogged and the bathtub was draining slowly.
