A distinctive oceanfront villa set in a small palm grove. Secluded beaches, shimmering black sand, emerald rice terraces and star-filled skies create a romantic setting.

Built from ironwood, the villa features floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views. Its architecture blends colonial charm with elements inspired by traditional Minangkabau houses, whose sweeping roofs evoke the raised wings of a mythical bird.

The interior brings together designer furniture and decorative pieces from different eras and countries. Many items were custom-made from sketches by the owners, who are architects.

Highlights include chests by Félix Monge, flowing Terzani chandeliers, a Louis XV–style dining area, an antique Chinese porcelain lamp and a ship-shaped chandelier designed by the owners. Carved panels and doors collected from various Indonesian islands add to the villa’s sense of travel and romance.

HOUSE RULES
A security deposit of USD 200 is payable in cash upon arrival. It will be refunded at check-out, subject to a satisfactory inspection of the villa.

PLEASE NOTE
• Swimming at the nearby beach is unsafe due to strong waves and rip currents. Enjoy seaside walks and sunsets instead.
• Fire safety: Barbecues, fireworks, smoking and any use of open flames are strictly prohibited inside the villa. These activities are permitted only on the beach and require prior written permission from the property management. Violations may result in a fine deducted from your security deposit and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
• Accessibility note: Villa Laut has steep, high steps connecting the beach, the garden and the house. The property may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or difficulty using stairs. Please consider this before booking and contact us if you have any questions about accessibility.
