"The hotel is really nice and pleasant The staff are lovely very helpful Food is fresh and nice, but unfortunately there were ants on the serving counter Not too far from Wigan centre, 5 - 10 minutes from Retail park"

"The accommodation was very good. Breakfast whilst adequate, was not as varied as I’ve had elsewhere. Eg. Scrambled eggs or no eggs. Hotel not easy to find by car and sat nav. Mine gave up. Haven’t seen so many no entry signs in such close proximity and never seen a “Bus gate” before. Beware of this as sat nav’s want to take you through it. DON’T GO there. I’ll probably have a ticket on the mat when I get home. Only one disabled car parking bay and that was coned off. Arriving by train? Not easy...

"As beautiful as the Grade 1 listed building is for The Imperial Hotel ,the old musty smell on the 4th Floor is unavoidable for the age of this glorious building. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately a couple might want to rethink their career choice."

"Good comfortable bed and spacious room/suite. Staff friendly and tried to be helpful. Not so good, allocated wrong room type, corrected when raised with the hotel. Correct room had very obvious damage which no attempt had been made to repair, when raised was told no other rooms available with an apology."

"Clean comfortable room. We have stayed here 3 times rooms are all alike and all have been clean. Breakfast is available cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit etc. Again we have always found breakfast adequate. Parking at the hotel is £5 for the night and again we have always been able to get parked. There is a nice bar in the hotel, staff this time were exceptional"

"Our room was immaculate and very quiet even altho it was in close proximity to the lift. Breakfast the next morning was very good with food levels monitored carefully so that hot food was replenished to match how busy the restaurant was"

Hairs on the floor ie blonde im dark haired very Noisy , loose toilet seat. & toilet holder which moved everytime you tried to take toilet roll off, shower started spraying out water at 1.15am in the morning Sticky table,My handbag stuck to it, ripped chair in the room aswell Room 305 Would i stay again NO Plus when you get to the hotel you have to pay a £50 deposit for the room thats after you have paid for the room"

"Not the hotel but a party came back from Manchester at 1.00am and kept us up all night and we checked out at 4.30am and no offer of changing rooms or anything but sorry."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Waterside Hotel. Parking in the basement was easy with lifts to all floors. The room was good, spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only grumbles would be that it was difficult getting into the bath tub to have a shower and there was no fridge in the room."

"We had no wifi at all .no blind at well overlooked by people having coffee at open doors on raised level opp room 206 no privacy . Bath taps didnt work towels looked grey not white Heating didnt work when we arrived lift broken for years as other guests told us too .No tissues in bathroom very poor restaurant set in beautiful grounds but not a good experience sadly "
