Cottage with a Stunning View

  • This secluded cottage is very well located close to many natural treasures. Both Hvolsvöllur village & Seljalandsfoss waterfall are in 10 minutes driving distance. The house is approx. 50m2 plus a roomy sleeping loft. In the sleeping loft there is 1 queen size bed and 3 single beds. Good kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine & a radio. Bed linen & towels are included. There is a shower in the bathroom. There is a terrace surrounding the cottage. Free Wifi.

    Lava Vulcano & Earthquake Center, Hvolsvöllur, 15 km.
    The LAVA Volcano & Earthquake Center reveals the epic forces of nature that shape our planet and created Iceland only 20 million years ago. The center features an interactive educational exhibition that displays a collection of artifacts, films and graphics from various volcano eruptions that have occurred in the past century.

    The Saga Centre in Hvolsvöllur offers a unique Njal´s Saga exhibition, where Njals Saga, the most famous of the medieval Sagas of Iclanders is Introduced in several languages. The exhibition gives an overview over the world of the Sagas, the Viking age and the age of the settlement.

    Eyjafjalajökull Visitor Center (Thorvaldseyri Visitor Center), 34 km.
    The exhibition center is located at the farm Thorvaldseyri on the Ring Road in south Iceland, which was one of the farms worst hit by the ash fall and flooding caused by a powerful eruption of the vulcano under the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The center is run by the local farmers.

Schönes Cottage im Flachland

Das kleine, schon was ältere Cottage bietet alles, was es für einen schönen Aufenthalt braucht. Zu Fuss kann man zu einem Fluss oder Pferdekoppeln laufen. Die Terrasse ist bei sonnigem Wetter schön zum draussen sitzen.

Quiet Cabin

My family of five stayed here in August and loved the clean, remote, and cozy cabin. It was nestled about 10 minutes off of 1 passing some cows and sheep to get to the location. About 15 minutes away was a kronan grocery store and gas. The kitchen at all we need to make a meal and we loved sleeping together in the bedroom it was very Sweet.

Really enjoyed the peace. Booked the location due to the rift bike race, unfortunately our friend got sick and couldn’t go on the trip with us, but cancelling wasn’t an option. We stuck with our original plan. Enjoyed the coffee and tea provided and the ICE. Location is a bit far for main attractions but if you are looking for clean, peaceful then this is the place for you

Simply perfect!

Thor has thought of everything with this cabin. It is so beautifully and comfortably appointed. Everything from the cozy and comfy beds to the outdoor grill. We enjoyed baking a cake in the oven and sitting on the beautiful deck watching the sunset colors over the mountain glaciers in the distance. The cabin is very comfortable for 4 and could easily hold a few more. Out in the country, away from the crowds - this is the perfect place to settle down and relax for a few days. Also the perfect launch point for an early trip to the Westmann Islands, just a 20 minute drive to the ferry.
