"The lodge was nice, check in was easy and the lounge had cold drinks and bar service available. The room was comfortable but smelled a bit. Complimentary in room coffee, biscuits and a bit of sherry was a nice touch. Bus stop right out front. "

"We stayed here for our last night before flying back to Canada. It is a cute boutique hotel, but is seeing some wear and tear. The attached pub is fantastic and has a great authentic neighborhood feel. The staff are excellent."

"We loved our stay at The Scholar. Beautiful, modern, large, parking for our rental vehicle. The only thing we didn't know when we booked is that this hotel is nestled into the University of Edinburgh campus (hence the name)! Did that make me feel old as dirt? Yes. Did I love staying there? Also yes. "

"The check in was good. Room abit tired. Only one bedside table for a double room. Where kettle was on window ledge felt sticky.the restaurant side was lovely. Excellent meal & staff. Bar side very tired. Stained seats."

"Just an incredible time at the Norton House! Just an incredible comfortable bed with six pillows. Great breakfast, lunch dinner gourmet dinner available there on site and then to be able to walk the grounds and view the sheep go up by the woods and look down at the hotel. It was very nice. The spa facilities were top-notch. The receptionist were always available and friendly. I can’t say enough about the Norton."

"Clean, and in a great location with a 15 - 20 minute stroll to main attractions. I used this as a base when taking part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon and the location was great for strolling to the start area. The apartment itself is very well furnished with everything expected from a self catering apartment for up to a week. Despite being central Edinburgh it is still relatively expensive and additional fees for parking or late checkout bump the overall cost even more. The apartment itself...
