"I have seen a lot of negative reviews on this hotel so I was a little nervous before checking in. I called on our way to see if it was possible to get a bottom floor room as we were brining our bikes. They accommodated me no questions asked. They are dog friendly and in an excellent location! Close to the boardwalk and tons of food. Our room was great for what we needed plus tons of room for our 3 bikes. We had hot water and AC. "

"We loved our stay at Fern River Resort. Tucked beneath the trees, it felt peaceful and fully immersed in nature.
Our cabin was clean, cozy, and warm, we lit the fireplace in the evening and unwound after a beautiful train ride through the redwoods. Sitting by the river at dusk was one of those simple, perfect moments you wish you could stretch out a little longer.

"This hotel is a short drive to Monterey or even Santa cruz. It's not your average hotel where you wonder if the people are on vacation or if they're actually living there. It's right on the water which is near the Elkhorn Slough. You might see otters in the water and there are a variety of birds right outside of your window. The room was super cute. You have access to the shared kitchen and dining room in the house on the property. I will definitely be staying there again."
