"VERY small and old rooms. Towels smelled awful. Dingy carpets. Zero functioning amenities. Staff was very unhelpful. Called the front desk at 11 pm to ask for help with the streaming service and was told, "It's late. Call back in the morning." The only redeeming quality was the location. I wouldn't have such a negative impression of the hotel if it was rated two stars but it was rated as "exceptional" and that is 100% inaccurate. Holiday Inn Express vibes at best."

"The cable TV doesn't work very well at all. If you change the channel, it won't, it'll just sit there on a blank screen. Know that there is a tourist tax; notified upon checking in. Even being on the 24th flr, there's nooo sound barrier from the street or the elevator & room doors constantly slamming. Reported issue with the shower that the cleaning service somehow messed up and was rushed off the phone while trying to report it."

"My room looked nothing like the photos, hallways are weird and outdated . Look kind of sketchy. The rooms are like in a pod so it seems like you and your neighbors would literally bump doors if they opened outward. So that’s all I heard is them coming in and out. My room didn’t even have a microwave; was real outdated. And parking is far as hell. So I had to Uber so I didn’t have to walk that far in heels when going out."

"The River hotel is in a wonderful location. However, the hotel could stand the upgrades that you see in the pictures on the website. When I mentioned that the rooms aren't like what's depicted on the website, a staff member informed that those pictures are from the show rooms where corporate people get to stay.
