"Had a wonderful time staying at the cozy shoehouse as we took a couple days to reunite with family after moving out of state. Spent 23 years in York visiting the shoe from time to time. It was very nostalgic inside and outside of the shoe. Unlike practically all shoes, this one did not stink."

"Clean house, incredible idyllic views, and quiet. I loved the sound of the train on the tracks at night (if you're not a train person, ear plugs are provided). I didn't know Lancaster County could be this beautiful!"

"My friend and I meet in the middle in Lancaster every Memorial Day and this was the favorite place we stayed! Our kids (3, 7, and 10) loved playing on the little beach and floating on the rafts (it was still too early season for swimming). "Having stayed in many, many vacation rentals over the years, in places like Savannah, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Poconos, this is the only one that has ever deserved a 100% in all categories. Peaceful, well-designed and furnished, beautiful landscaping, easy to find, personable hosts, and SO comfortable. If I could, I would stay longer! I traveled here with my youngest child for a sports tournament at Spooky Nook."

"Loved the house itself. The only downsize was the street the house is on is extremely busy till late at night. We had a wedding the next day and it was difficult getting a good nights sleep. The house was clean and quaint. Once I used my brown noise app on my phone, it was easier to block out the noise from the traffic and finally get a good night sleep. "

"We had a great stay for a quick wedding trip. The home slept 8 adults easily. "

"This rental was more spacious than expected. Very comfortable and clean. Loved the huge windows in the master bedroom which give a great view of the river. As noted in the property description, trains run immediately behind the building, so it was not a surprise to us. Just be aware you WILL hear and feel the trains passing by overnight. "

"Had a family wedding in nearby Hallam but didn’t want to stay at a hotel. Communication with owner was very easy. House is very accommodating for our purposes. Garage parking definitely helped ease our mind about car safety. "

"Beautiful Home on top of huge hill with a 270 degree panoramic view of rolling hills. Pool was amazing! Not a sounds around you but nature. Rental space was opulent and grand and felt like you were in the whole Mansion! Mr William and Ms Liz and family were over hospitable and even more kind! I’m keeping it short and sweet but definitely a place I recommend and will be staying at again in the future! "

"The place was nice and neat with all modern finishes. The two bedrooms had nice large beds with tvs and the kitchen was nice and new. The owner lives upstairs and lives there so being aware of the living situation is important but if you’re looking for a great view, location and place to stay that’s quiet and well appointed, this is it!"
