"The check in was pretty a chaos cause my expedia account didn't approve my card, luckily the receptionist still let me check in. Also there was no phone in the rooms so if you had a question, you had to go all the way to the front lobby to get your questions answered, not sure why they don't have a phone in the rooms. Our ac in our room also wasn't really working that well. Room 212 , I believe."

"Blue jay lodge is close to all of South Lake tahoes big areas, but still on a quiet strip. They do give you tickets for $5 off if you want to go to the private beach which is 3 min drive. We enjoyed our stay. There was a few cons: 1) there is no attendant there so everything is done online including room key and we kept getting messages (about 4-5) over our 1 night stay. 2) rooms walls are extremely thin. "The room was clean and very cute however there was no one at the front office when we got there and their maintenance man saw us in the parking lot asking for our contact info without ever telling us who he was. He was trying to be helpful but I except someone to be available at the office upon check in. In addition there was work being done in the room above us and all kinds of of banging happening until 11 at night and then again starting at 6 AM"

"There are only 2 things I found good about the resort, location and staff . Booked a 2 bedroom condo for 2 nights and left early . One of the patio doors was broken and would not lock, maintenance staff handled it very quickly . Linens were clean , but the rooms themselves were absolutely filthy . "Traveled during Fourth of July. If you plan to travel here during this time keep in mind this motel had many young adults who were crammed in many rooms with loud noise, loud music, drinking and smoking with doors opened for anyone to see. Definitely not a family friendly place to stay at or if you are looking for a quiet place. Room had awful smell, carpets looked filthy. Only great thing is how helpful the staff was. Would not stay here again"

The giant drawback in this room was its location.
