"This was our first time staying at this property. The owner went above and beyond, making sure that my brothers and I were accommodated while visiting Sault Ste. Marie. The house was clean and suited perfectly for our yearly reunion. We were asked for minimal effort when checking out. I would strongly recommend staying at this property, we know that we will."

"We had a fantastic stay at the Bear’s Den for Labor Day week/end 2025. The owners have done a wonderful job of making this a fantastic up north getaway in the woods. It was so peaceful and relaxing while also having all you need in terms of modern amenities. There were 7 of us plus a dog and we were all cozy and comfortable. You need to plan around the ferry for coming and going but we thought that added to the adventure and the kids loved it. Highly recommend. My parents already want to come...

"My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!"

"Very clean, great location, well-appointed with a lot of nice features like ceiling fans everywhere, even in the bathrooms, lots of comfortable seating inside and out, plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and just about anything you need in the kitchen! The ships going by day and night were amazing and beautiful. We even had a glimpse of the Northern Lights! We loved our stay and hope to be back!"

"Very beautiful with all amenities included. Short distances to local areas of interest. Game rooms enjoyed by all. Plenty of bedrooms for our nine family members; no one was crowded nor lacked privacy. Would stay there again and highly recommend."
