"We loved our stay at the Hotel San Francesco. The entire staff was incredibly gracious and helpful. Liz at reception gave us great recommendations, we enjoyed chatting with her. Smiley truly lives up to her name, lovely and helpful. We enjoyed apperitivos at the rooftop lounge and were never disappointed with the food, drinks and service. "If you like small eclectic type hotels, this place is for you. The location is off the beaten path and away from the tourist areas but if you don't mind the metro and buses you can get around. The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff is super helpful. Not much in amenities or nearby restaurants but that may be a plus or minus depending on your plans. Especially when comparing costs between hotels. As a whole, it is a nice hotel but it does not have the tourist vibe that many people are...

Main restaurant was closed several evening for private events without prior warning leaving only one option, which was busy and unavailable without reservation. We were offered room service as an option. There’s no alternative in the area of otherwise and you have to take an Uber to go to other restaurants"

"We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Hotel Lancelot. The location is excellent a few minutes walk from the Colosseum and a stones throw from San Clemente and its excavations (well worth a vist). A lovely continental breakfast was included (selection of pastries, jams, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, cold meats, cheeses etc). We never tried the dinners but heard they are excellent. Staff are happy to recommend local restaurants...again great recommendations. All staff were friendly and so helpful...

"It was 38’C when we were in Rome. The AC in these rooms is beautiful. Had the room at 17’C and it was heavenly. The rooms are extremely tiny. Just a bed and bathroom. Also the cafe attached serves an American breakfast if you are staying at the hotel. Would stay again if it was going to be hot. If it was cooler, nothing in particular would bring me back here."

Scenic and safe 30 minute walk through travestere across the the Ponte Pisto bridge over the river Tiber in to the heart of historic ruins Rome.
