"Very good value! Large room in historic pub. Building is full of character with wonky beams and creaky floor boards, and our room had an incredible four poster bed. Everything was clean and linens were all good quality. Bathroom could use some minor retouching but was perfectly acceptable. "The staff were lovely with nothing too much trouble. The food was superb in an amazing dining room with proper tablecloths and napkins ! This is a wonderful 800 year old castle with no lift so, if you have walking difficulties, ask for a room on the first floor. The public rooms are magnificent but the bedrooms, while perfectly comfortable, would benefit from being brought up to date. Anyway, all in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we shall be sure to return. "
