"We arrived at 1:00pm and thought we would get lunch at the hotel. Their restaurant/bar were closed until 5. We were woken at 11:30pm that night with a fire alarm. We had smelt a sewer smell in the hallway all day and reported it. I called about the fire alarm and was told I could stay in my room because it only went off due to someone lighting a cigarette in the men's bathroom. Would not recommend this hotel."

"Continues to be my chosen place to stay in Halifax. Grand old hotel with a lot of character. Great location for shops, restaurants and walking. I’ve stayed in both the smallest and largest of rooms in the hotel, and although there are parts of the hotel that could use some fresh paint and tlc, I appreciate that the little things are always high quality: big towels, great toiletries, Nespresso machines in all the rooms, and top notch staff. Only thing I didn’t appreciate this visit was that...

"Just a heads up when staying in room 118 the elevator is across the hall and with three hockey teams in the building it continued to be quite noisy up until midnight , i will choose a different rm for the next time"

"The staff were amazing very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet had limited options but the food was decent. A few areas of the hotel were being renovated and the elevator sounded like it was going to break anytime it started to move. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. I would stay there again. "
