"The air con had broken in the hotel during the June 2026 heatwave. We were lied to, told we could move rooms to a working one and weren’t told it had broken everywhere until 11.30pm when returning from a concert. We asked if we could get a refund and were told we could, so at midnight we left and went to find somewhere else. 2 weeks on and I have had no apology, no refund and no acknowledgement of this being dealt with. I’m £244 out of pocket as I had to pay for another hotel. Avoid."

"I really like this place. THe only negative was that there is no USB port in the room, or anywhere in the carpark to charge an electric vehicle. Parking is easy and plentiful. Breakfast is great. Din't actually meet a single member of staff except in the pub (where they were very pleasant) - so i cannot really comment on the staff. It would be ice to actually see someone or have the facility to ask a question etc"

"Spent a Saturday night at the AC Marriott Birmingham with my partner and came away with mixed feelings. The hotel has a lot going for it on paper - a great location, a genuinely comfortable bed, and a clean, contemporary feel throughout. The air conditioning was a godsend given the current heatwave, and the rooms look sharp with their modern aesthetic. "This is a beautiful hotel, dwarfed only by the incredible staff, from front desk to the porters. Everyone truly goes out of their way to make your stay perfect! A must stay!"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at the ibis Styles Birmingham Centre for one night and, considering we only paid £46.69, we were genuinely impressed. The reception area was clean, spacious and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They showed us where we were on a map and pointed out nearby attractions, including directions to the Utilita Arena where we were attending an event. A nice touch was the complimentary tea and coffee available in reception, along with water and juice in the dining...

"Very clean. Booked in for a week. Not hassled by usual hotel domestic staff to change towels etc. Only if asked did cleaners attend. Microwave / combi oven instructions were not clear, but I managed. Really comfortable bed, powerful shower."

"Unfortunately we were put in a room that faces the road where there are ongoing roadworks. These went on all through the night, we gave up at 7 am and went for breakfast then headed straight home. The lorries were constantly back and forth with reversing alarms going. I have complained to premier inn but they accept no responsibility for placing guests in rooms while this work continues. Avoid Waterloo Street Birmingham for the time being."
