"I really like this place. THe only negative was that there is no USB port in the room, or anywhere in the carpark to charge an electric vehicle. Parking is easy and plentiful. Breakfast is great. Din't actually meet a single member of staff except in the pub (where they were very pleasant) - so i cannot really comment on the staff. "Treated myself to a night here and given the price point expected a lot and was sadly disappointed. Upon reaching reception I found a queue to check in. There were three staff members behind reception but only one was dealing with guests. This was frustrating. Finally checked in, room was a nice size, the air conditioning was a god send in the heat and the bed and bedding was very comfy. The bathroom was large and pleasant, but showing its age. The reception area was clean, spacious and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They showed us where we were on a map and pointed out nearby attractions, including directions to the Utilita Arena where we were attending an event. "Very clean. Booked in for a week. Not hassled by usual hotel domestic staff to change towels etc. Only if asked did cleaners attend. Microwave / combi oven instructions were not clear, but I managed. Really comfortable bed, powerful shower."

"Unfortunately we were put in a room that faces the road where there are ongoing roadworks. These went on all through the night, we gave up at 7 am and went for breakfast then headed straight home. The lorries were constantly back and forth with reversing alarms going. I have complained to premier inn but they accept no responsibility for placing guests in rooms while this work continues. Avoid Waterloo Street Birmingham for the time being."
