"Hotel was near two metro stations and within walking distance to Chinatown. We loved the cool neighbourhood which had the best bakery in Singapore Tiong Bahru Bakery. We were upgraded to a bigger room, which was great. The staff also very kindly let us check out an hour and a half later as we had a very late flight. If we come back to Singapore we will definitely stay here. "

"Beautiful place that's right in Chinatown. They have free drinking water, washer, dryer, and super close to the subway. This place is excellent."

"Staff were super polite and helpful. The room was decent, they cleaned my room daily with fresh towels and bedsheets however they should clean the floor too. The food wasn’t the best but ok. Bus stop right outside which takes you to the main areas. The hotel is positioned in a good area, very close to Sentosa Island. Overall I’d give 4.5* -I’d stay again. "

"This hotel has immense colonial charm (some won’t like it for that reason, but I did). A few little tips - Wotif says it’s 13km from Changi airport - Major furphy - more like 45mins (checked the taxi receipt so I could check the sense I was in the taxis for a v long time). Very positive is the Polo Bar (the staff rustled me up a cheese plate after hours) and the pool (unlike the high rise hotels which can be very busy I virtually had the pool to myself on a Sunday). "The only problem was the shower hose was leaking making it rather unpleasant when having a wash with water splashing over one's face when not mounting the shower on its bracket. The door for the shower cubicle tends to brush the shower mat out of the way when one comes out of the shower unit. A fault of the design of the shower cubicle. I wish the cups in the room are bigger for drinking tea and disappointing with such a small kettle. I don't particularly like the reclining couch which is...

"The hotel is well located within walking distance of Havelock MRT and has a number of eating options nearby including the Tiong Bahru market. Room was clean and staff were excellent, a special mention to Zul who assisted me with his local tips!"
