"We stayed for weekend friday to sunday. The Hotel is a traditional scottish village hotel doubling as village pub, with an old fashioned layout including a seperate entrance for the bar. So to use the bar you actually leave the hotel and re enter the bar. Some will find that quaint and charming
The room was comfortable, clean and warm and everything worked. Breakfast was excellent and service was attentive.
This is a small village hotel not a chain. Service reflected that, nice and attentive...

"The Fingal is a real gem, such a different hotel experience, it’s like being swept back to the days of the titanic, without the fear of an iceberg ! The staff were amazing, and really went out of their way to accommodate us, despite us being late for dinner. Can’t thank the hotel team enough it was an amazing experience. "

"Stay at this hotel. It felt like our home away from home in Edinburgh. Rianne (I think that’s how her name is spelled) and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating, which makes a big difference when you’re traveling in a foreign country. The bed was comfy, the breakfast was the best we had at any hotel in Scotland, the location was excellent - central to everything but still pretty quiet for a good night’s rest. Also, we always saw the housekeeping team working very hard to keep the hotel...

"The room and amenities and view and building and staff were all lovely. Very luxurious feeling hotel. Breakfast was delicious and there were plenty vegetarian options.
The only downside is there's no lift/elevator and 47 plus stairs is a bit much for me but if you have no mobility issues 100 out of 10 would definitely recommend "

"Market hotel provided us we all we needed for a great stay in Edinburgh. Close proximity to all the sites of interest.
The hotel is beautifully finished, with everything you need. Hairdryer, iron, coffee making facilities, fridge with fresh milk!! Free mini bar! Such a rarity, but so welcomed! Aircon was silent, bed so comfortable! Shower powerful and the soap, shampoo, conditioner and body cream wonderfully smelling!
