Are you looking for a classic Akaroa Harbour experience, but just can't seem to find an authentic property to fulfil the dream?
Are you looking for stunning harbour or restful garden and rural views from every window?
Are you looking for modern technological convenience, state of the art kitchen and well-appointed bedrooms?
Could you believe that such a place exists, just 60 minutes from Christchurch and less than 20 minutes around the harbour from Akaroa town?

Whether you are a couple looking for a special self-contained and private getaway, or a family seeking a weekend break from the hustle of Christchurch city, Maison du Campagne will tick every box. Stunningly equipped at every turn, this house is ready to occupy and to be enjoyed for a multifaceted pallet of features that few can rival.

The house itself boasts 3 bedrooms, two double with en suites, and one set up for children. The beds are comfortable and conducive to that perfect sleep, so elusive in one's everyday life. In the morning, throw open the curtains and stand there and just take it all in: Onawe peninsular jutting jaunty and imposing across the reflective inner harbour; the part-reforested slopes of the Eastern harbour rim and the blue, blue sky of another perfect French Farm day.

Hungry? Time to brew that coffee and sit outside on any of the three patios with your breakfast. Fancy a few berries to sprinkle on your muesli? Go help yourself - the garden will provide home-grown seasonal produce to enhance your stay.

What will you do now? Drive south down the western edge of the harbour, ascend the Jubilee to the Summit road, or continue around to the Southern Bays. Or perhaps drive down into Tikao Bay for a swim and a picnic, just minutes from the bach.

Further afield, explore Barrys Bay for cheeses, Duvauchelles for golf or continue around to the amenities of Akaroa itself: Dolphin encounters, Harbour tours, nature reserves, cafes and bars.

40th Wedding Anniversary

We had a wonderful time once again staying at this property, this is my favorite place. Our party consisted of my 92yr old Father and 88yr old Mother, my husband and I. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary and Mothers Day - both falling on the 11th May. Your home is nice and warm. Love the underfloor heating we certainly didn't feel cold at all. The surroundings are beautiful and we had the best weather, looking out over the bay with the boats bobby around was stunning. My elderly parents were able to move about the downstairs very well, considering both of them have minimal sight. Thank you once again for an awesome time.

Amazing views

Beautiful property and gardens. Lovely big house, clean and warm with incredible views over the harbour. Well equipped for cooking and being entertained. Quiet with comfy beds. Lots in the house to look at. Would love to stay here again and would recommend.

The most fabulous, stunning and incredible home!

Every single detail for this property is well thought-out. From the coffee machine in the kitchen, to the piano and guitar in the main lounge, to the help-yourself gardens filled with the most incredible fruits, the view, bath, and meticulous care of the gardens! Danielle was fabulous to communicate with, and I would not hesitate to book this stunning property again.

Fantastic stay

Beautiful home and location

After a few sterile, soulless holiday rental experiences our family was so grateful to stay in such a homely character filled space. We appreciated the beautiful garden, and the well equipped high quality kitchen and bathroom. The outdoor dining was fab! Potential guests with young children should be aware that there are a lot more personal ornaments and decor around the house than depicted in the photos. This was fine for our chill 4 yo and non mobile baby but could be quite hard managing a full on toddler in the space. Amazing location, thanks!

This is a spectacular property

My favourite place on the peninsula

We’ve stay here a half dozen times now and it’s one of my favourite places. The location is perfect, close to Akaroa but far enough away to be so peaceful. The home is beautiful and the host makes everything so easy.

Home away from home

Lovely, quiet outdoor areas to relax and soak up the sun and some nice views too. The house is warm and inviting, with all the essentials provided, modern, but still has its charms. A fantastic place to unwind and yet still close enough to Akaroa if you want to eat out or poke about the shops. The fire and the huge bathtub are wonderful.

French Farm weekend

Love this place! Third time visiting. Highly recommend for warmth, comfort, and setting . Host is great to communicate with and shout out also to French Peak Wines, walking distance from this accomodation for their wine tasting and chat. We will be back for sure!
