"Room very basic, tired, dated. Smelt like strong bleach. Furniture scuffed. No wardrobe or drawers for clothes. Shower was hot and powerful though"

"Very friendly welcome and a lovely little hotel. Excellent price and a nice big room. The only issue was the heating seemed to be broken in the room so there was a small space heater. It was difficult to gauge what setting to have the heater on and so I woke in the middle of the night very hot and had to adjust it. The bathroom was also very cold. Otherwise a very nice and comfortable stay. "

"The room was not as we saw on the website, we didn’t have a garden view but a large wall, which made the room really dark, the carpet was stained, the breakfast was ok until my husband saw the chef put cereals spilt on the table back in the pots with the ones to be eaten , there was a big sign outside saying come and look at our refurbished rooms, we certainly didn’t get one "

"Pictures do not do this gem of a place justice. Check in was a breeze, the pub is quirky, but the accommodation was fantastic, quiet, comfortable and clean....all wrapped up in a 300 year old stone building. Such a beautiful spot, probably our fave and would love to return."

"We stayed 3 nights in a bleak February. The weather was bad, but the room was warm and cosy. The dining hall was shut, but a continental breakfast was laid out on the landing and a small table and chairs provided in the room. Cooked breakfast was available for a small extra fee, but we didn't feel we needed one. "We booked a last-minute 2-night stay at Heythrop Hotel & Spa in mid-April for a birthday, with a great deal including breakfast, dinner, and wine. The estate is beautiful and peaceful, with an impressive manor setting. Check-in was smooth, though parking can be a long walk—use the drop-off if needed. "It was very exciting staying in a castle. We had the family room which was very quaintly laid out with a single bed in its own part of the small turret, through a stone arch. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was served in a box in our room with loads of choice, and fresh produce in a mini fridge which was lovely. The area is stunning. "The property definitely has the WOW factor in terms of location and access to the Silverstone facilities. However dont go with any expectation of self catering, minimal facilities which dont include a basic toaster and less than adequate utensils. It appears there’s an assumption that you will eat at the restaurant which looks incredible but quite costly if there for evening meal and breakfast!"
