"Unfortunately the pool was not open. It was supposed to be open Memorial Day but apparently there are some issues. Reception staff was very accommodating. Initiation looked out on a roof but the staff member went and checked out other available rooms and changed us to a higher corner room. Breakfast service is also done by front desk staff which can be quite timely based on number of guests and the need to serve the front desk. Bar and restaurant staff were great. Food was very good."

"We frequently stay at B&Bs and this property outshone all the others. The bathrooms were all modern and very clean, comfy bed, great lighting in the rooms. The breakfast might have been the best part, however, and every day was delicious, filling, and pretty presentation. "The outside and parking lot are a little run down but inside, the rooms are very nice, plenty of towels and toiletries. Mini fridge, microwave and a nice TV. Walkable area in “town”. About a half mile long Main Street with a few restaurants, an ice cream shop and some stores. Needed a place close to Shippensburg without spending hundreds of dollars during PIAA States track weekend and this was perfect. "

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Thornwald Mansion. It is nicely secluded in a park yet you are within walking distance to Dickinson College and a shopping center. The property has outstanding amenities and the food selections at breakfast were delicious. The service exceeded our expectations. The room and the bed were comfortable and very quiet. "I liked almost everything about the place. Clean rooms, although the shower did not have much water pressure. Maybe it was just our room. Room 311. My real complaint is that my card was charged for all three rooms that I reserved before I got there. My room was cost split with someone, but we both got charged the full price. I think we have it worked out now. I will probably still stay there next year. Also the breakfast was great!"
