"The exterior of the Inn could benefit from some improvements. First impressions matter, and on arrival we were concerned it might be a little run down. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case — our room was pleasant, comfortable, and spacious enough for a one‑night stay. The only downside was that the coffee and tea facilities were very limited, with just two sachets and a few milk capsules, and as the Inn closes early there was no staff around in the evening to ask for more. "A lovely little hotel slightly off the beaten track but within easy distance of Stirling and main routes to the highlands. Beautifully decorated. Excellent breakfast. The pub food is really good too should you need lunch or dinner. It was quite warm and humid when I visited with no a/c, although hotel provided a fan, which was helpful. It’s located at a busy intersection, so there is traffic, but given that it’s located in the country, there is still a sense of peace about it. Highly recommend."

"It is convenient to park your car at this inn. Highland Gate is not the inn but the the restaurant. The Highland Gate restaurant and Marton's Inn are in two separate buildings. The inn's outside apearance and inside conditions are quite mediocre: carpet in the hallway looks dirty at every entrance to the room; there is no rack or shelve for suitcases though the room size is decent; the bathroom has a peculiar smell (not stinky but unpleasant to me), and the double bed (made of two single beds)...

"We were passing through staying 1 night only but the lady in the nightshift was so kind and helpful despite our latenight checkin time. She quickly made sure our sofa beds were setup in all the rooms so me and my family could get a goodnights rest. Breakfast was a decent spread with a lovely coffee machine."

"The hotel was super as usual. The menu in the restaurant however was limited. I would have liked to see a cold option in this heat wave. I did have to phone down to reception at 01:30 due to a party going on in a room next door. It was however dealt with swiftly and this was outwith the hotels control. Room was clean, good selection of tea's in the room with nice biscuits and hot chocolate too. Staff were professional and helpful."

Super close to bus and train station with a glass walkway over rails . Close to all amenities under 10 min walk."

Room was large and had everything that was needed including a hairdryer, opening window and fan > these are usually needed to be asked for so that was nice. "The food for dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was fabulous! The rooms were tired although the bed was great some of the furniture needed updating. There was noise all night from a boiler (I think) which kept me awake. Overall a pleasant stay but a bit too pricey for the room stay."
