  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Filthy ! From the towels , rusted utensils, hair balls and dust under the beds , mold , fruit flies . This is one of worst properties I have ever rented I have 37 photos and will try to post . The pictures online are deceiving and my guess is the bad reviews get taken down . Check in is at 6pm and check out is 10 am . And don’t forget - soap, toilet paper, paper towels,garbage bags and dishwashing soap .

Week in Duck

We had the absolute best time on our vacation! This condo is prime real estate ! Excellent restaurants shopping and activities so close ! And the pool and beach being side by side was such a fun time for the kids! The condo is nice updated and clean ! While they provide linens and towels I would recommend bringing extra shower towels if you are staying for a full week and blankets/ pillowcases for the master . A blanket is provided but it’s definitely a summer blanket! There are plenty of extra pillows but you will need to bring pillow cases for them. It was clean and bright and had books and games ! We will def be back !
