We took advantage of a lot of what the hotel had to offer (for example, massages, facials, hotel restaurant, and even the nearby outlets). They do come at an extra reasonable price! "The room was clean and spacious. Although the hotel is a bit older, everything is well maintained. The staff is very helpful and give support very quickly. The buffet restaurant is excellent with a very large selection of food and desserts. The staff also take care of used plates vert quickly. "This is a unique property and a total throw back to another time (the main house is from the 1890s). The traditional kaiseki was impeccable, the breakfast was delicious, and the property is gorgeous. Added bonus: hot spring water is piped to your room bath! "Beautiful gardens and traditional Japanese rooms. Onsens are wonderful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only problem is that the hotel is quite isolated, so you must rely on the hotel shuttle to drive up/down from the local bus route. Other than the hotel restaurant, there are no other restaurants/convenience stores anywhere close (15-25 minute bus ride away). Not many taxis in the area either."
