"It is a beautiful hotel, we had a balcony with an ocean view. The breakfast is first class, the service was hospitable. And the location was perfect for us - only a 20 minute walk to the Funchal Marina, with an abundance of beautiful cafe's and shops. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"Lovely hotel, with great sea view rooms. We had premium All inclusive which was well worth it for the al carte breakfast and additional nights at the restaurants. Swimming pools are great, mostly couples there, a few young children as not a child friendly hotel really. It's 4 euros to play pool for an hour, which is fair. One critisim is the number of flies and bugs. At the buffet/drink stations there are a lot of flies, with cakes/lemons/honey left out. It was a bit off putting, however it...

"Fantastic hotel, would highly recommend. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and has a great vibe to it. The food was phenomenal and I ended up eating breakfast and lunch most days at the hotel. It's in a great location too and has an awesome little swimming spot in the ocean. I was a solo traveler and felt very safe here. Very worth it to upgrade your room to an ocean view!! Would definitely come back!"

"Definitely a 5 star experience. Everything is clean and well maintained. Well trained staff. The room is spacious and the bed and linens are top notch! the breakfast is superb! The only thing that needs updating is the bath/shower. The pressure is fantastic but the drain can't keep up and the temperature is hard to regulate. Restaurants: Brisa do Mar, excellent. I would skip Villa Cipriani, food was average."

"Hotel was well located close to the marina and centre of Funchal. Room was nice enough although the view was of a neighbouring building. The gym was limited and the rooftop pool was very small and seating limited. Breakfast was okay but it was a bit of a scrum because there was limited space. Finally when we wanted the bedding changing we did as requested on the card in the room but despite requesting this on two occasions the bedding wasn’t changed which was disappointing. Not a 5 star hotel...

"The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous and in an amazing part of Funchal. The rooftop pool And bar are absolutely unbelievable with the best views in town. The staff are incredible and the rooms were cleaned impeccably. Possibly needing a little TLC in some parts of the room. But do not let it put you off absolutely fantastic would definetly return"

"The Hotel is in an excellent location within the edge of the Old Town therefore walking distance to all the bars, restaurants, shops and promenade. Very quiet hotel, pleasant laid back atmosphere. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, including a welcome glass of sparkling wine! We only ate breakfast there each day which was very good, buffet style although there were specials you could order also. Great range of hot and cold foods, pastries and fruit. Overall we would happily recommend...

"Mooi, proper hotel. De kamers zijn wat verouderd, maar wel heel ruim. Vriendelijk personeel. Het buffet is lekker. Niet te uitgebreid, maar wel steeds voldoende keuze en elke dag iets anders. Voor vegetariërs ook genoeg opties! We vonden dit een goed hotel als uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar de verschillende wandelingen. Tour operators komen je hier uithalen voor daguitstappen en je zit nog redelijk dicht bij het oude centrum van Funchal (gemakkelijk met taxi of Uber, te voet een 5-tal km)....

"The rooms with sea view are absolutely stunning! I totally recommend them for enjoying a glass of madeira wine at sunset. Great breakfast selections, even though it can get busy at times."
